RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a preschool teacher for Åryds Preschool. Åryds Preschool is part of a unit with an outdoor profile, together with Brände Udde Preschool, Kometen Preschool, and Äventyret Preschool.
Åryds Preschool is located in a beautiful natural setting, approximately 15 km east of Växjö. Åryds Preschool has four departments: two for children aged 1-3 years and two for children aged 3-5 years. The preschool has an outdoor profile, and together with the curriculum, we work with Green Thread – our operational idea. This is based on the belief that NATURE is our learning environment, where children experience different parts of outdoor life during their time at the preschool. Åryds Preschool is facing future new construction.
We work from the vision that the preschool should be fun, safe, and educational for all children. On a preschool that is fun, safe, and educational for the child, PLAY from various perspectives is important to us:
- The educator's role and approach to PLAY.
- The importance of language for PLAY.
- Learning environments that promote PLAY with opportunities for interaction and social engagement.
- All children have the right to an adventure (risky play).
TOGETHER, we work with the concepts of Rest and Recovery through collegial learning in the form of literature reading and practice, benefiting both children and educators at the preschool.
As a preschool teacher, it is important to be able to see the competent child and have faith in the child's abilities. This is partly to understand children's working theories and partly to understand how children's learning is affected by our interaction with them. Therefore, it is crucial that you can tune into the child's needs and curiosity so that we can respond appropriately and provide challenges that are meaningful. As an educator, you are expected to participate in the activities and discoveries the children make, whether on the playground or in the forest. You do this by being a PRESENT educator. This means you are both physically and mentally present with the children to listen and respond to them in the best possible way.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher. You who are studying to become a preschool teacher may also be considered. You should also be well acquainted with Lpfö-18, revised 25, chapter 2:7 regarding the preschool teacher's responsibility in teaching.
We want you as an applicant to have the following qualities:
- Be a clear leader – with the ability to drive and lead systematic quality work and develop pedagogical work together with the work team.
- Be able to see and meet each child based on their individual prerequisites – implementing education so that care, development, and learning form a whole.
- You are flexible and adaptable to the children and their discoveries, and the need to adjust teaching to what is interesting at the moment.
- Good collaboration skills – In our work team, we want you to have the ability to reflect on learning processes where you take initiative to develop yourself as an individual, your work team, and especially the education we provide.
- Conduct teaching based on research and proven experience so that every child's development and learning are promoted, collaborate with the home through regular dialogue with the child's guardians, and conduct development talks and parent meetings.
- Good organizational skills – design pedagogical environments both outdoors and indoors so that they inspire development and learning, as well as challenge and stimulate children's interest and curiosity.
- Solution-focused – sort, prioritize, and work with low affectivity. We in the work team help each other and collaborate as the role models we are for the children.
- Can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
As a preschool teacher at Åryds Preschool, you should be willing to be outdoors. We conduct most of our teaching outdoors and see NATURE as a learning environment for education. Therefore, we want you to have a genuine interest in outdoor pedagogy, want to see opportunities to conduct teaching outdoors, and have either experience of outdoor pedagogy or personal experiences of outdoor life that you can utilize with the children.
Employment type: Permanent position.
