Do you enjoy working with children? Do you like water? If the answer is YES, a swimming school instructor position might be the job for you. We are looking for YOU who have an interest in and experience working with children and are eager for a part-time job. As a person, you should be responsible, positive, and engaged to ensure the children develop in the best way possible and have a fun time in the water. We offer a workplace where you, as a leader, can develop your leadership skills.

Pedagogical knowledge about children and young people, as well as good insights into the Swedish Swimming Line (Simlinjen), are meritorious.

We are now looking for Swimming Instructors for our swimming school operations on weekdays and weekends. We operate at Växjö Swimming Hall and in smaller pools around Växjö.

As a swimming instructor, you will have primary responsibility for groups, plan swimming lessons, assess the children's skills, and communicate with parents. Training is a requirement, but it can be completed after employment. Previous training through the Swedish Swimming Federation or the Swedish Life Saving Society is meritorious. Salary is based on age and education.

Short about the association and the swimming school operations

Växjö Swimming Club is one of Växjö's largest sports associations. The association runs many different activities, with the swimming school being the largest section. Approximately 900 children attend VÖSS swimming school each term. The swimming school is divided into three terms/year, where one term covers 10 weeks. The swimming school operations target children between 4-12 years old and are conducted on weekday evenings and weekends. The association works according to the Swedish Swimming Federation's guidelines known as Simlinjen. Within the swimming school, there are groups ranging from those focusing on teaching good water habits to those practicing swimming techniques in the four swimming strokes. The goal is to teach children safety in and around water, as well as to meet the requirements for swimming proficiency (swim 200 meters, including 50 meters on the back).
