RESPONSIBILITIES

Växjö Municipality is one of Sweden's fastest-growing municipalities. Here, you contribute to creating hope for the future and opportunities for our students every day.

We are looking for a Study and Career Counselor for Kungsmadskolan.

The position is located at the school as a whole, with the main part of the assignment focused on the four-year program of the adapted upper secondary school.

As a Study and Career Counselor, you work with guiding and supporting students regarding future study and career choices.

You have a special responsibility for students within the adapted upper secondary school, where you guide based on each student's individual prerequisites, needs, and goals. You work closely with teachers, student assistants, student health services, and school management to create good conditions for the students' transition to working life, daily activities, or further studies.

The assignment also includes:

• Individual and group-based guidance
• Information about educational paths, the labor market, and opportunities after upper secondary school
• Collaboration with guardians and external actors, such as employers and authorities
• Planning and implementation of study and career guidance interventions in teaching
• Work with transitions, internships, and working life contacts

Part of the position also involves study and career guidance for students on the three-year national program.

The position is part-time, 75%, but may potentially become full-time.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

• Have a degree in Study and Career Counseling
• Have experience in guidance within schools
• Have good knowledge of the education system and the labor market
• Have the ability to adapt guidance based on the individual's needs and prerequisites
• Are structured and have good collaboration skills

Meritorious:

• Experience working in an adapted upper secondary school or with students with intellectual disabilities
• Experience collaborating with working life and external actors
• Knowledge of transitions to daily activities

Personal qualities:

You have a good ability to create trusting relationships, are flexible in your work approach, and find it easy to collaborate with different professions. You work solution-focused and see opportunities in every student's future path.
