Job Description

Pär Lagerkvistskolan started its operations in August 2017. The school consists entirely of approximately 1,000 children and students distributed across three units; preschool with approx. 200 children, grades F-6 with over 300 students, and grades 7-9 with approx. 400 students. The school has a language track for students with language disorders. There is an EHT team, management team, safety team, and a lead teacher group. The grades 7-9 section is organized into three work groups with five classes in each grade level. The school also has a special education group. By autumn, the student number will be approx. 380 students.

The school is looking for a special educator for grades 7-9.

In your role as a special educator, you belong to our student health team. The assignment is student-oriented and consists of several parts: both direct support to students, in the classroom, in groups, and individually, and you are also responsible for the documentation related to the assignment. You conduct needs assessments of students, write action plans, and map, investigate, and propose adjustments at the organizational, group, and individual levels. Part of your assignment may be directed towards the Language Track.

The EHT team consists of school leadership, special teachers, school nurse, school counselor, school psychologist (SYV), and teachers in the special education group. You contribute to the health-promoting and preventive work with a focus on ensuring that all students receive the guidance and stimulation they need. You are an important person working to develop and increase the school's ability to meet and support all students' learning.

You collaborate with subject teachers in all work groups and, if necessary, participate in development talks or other meetings. Collaboration with other authorities is also included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed and qualified special educator. We would like you to have experience working in middle school (grades 7-9).

You also have a conscious understanding of your role as a pedagogical professional, working structurally based on current regulatory documents and a professional approach. You have the ability to create a good work climate with engagement, curiosity, and security in the group, and you see and meet students' different needs based on their different conditions.

You are engaged in teaching, supervision, school development, and actively contribute with your competence. You organize your work independently but also together with others. It is important to have a flexible working style and good collaboration skills.
