RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome to Östra Lugnet and Hagavik Adapted Primary School, which consists of students in grades 4-9 and shares premises with two primary schools, Östra Lugnets School and Hagavik School. At Östra Lugnets School, there will be 4 mixed-age classes in grades 4-6 this autumn, and at Hagavik School, there will be 6 mixed-age classes in grades 7-9. In total, there will be approximately 75 students at the start of the school year Autumn 2026. We also admit students continuously throughout the school year.

Teaching is based on the curriculum for adapted primary schools. In the classes, teachers and student assistants work closely together. Our goal is for all students to meet a learning environment adapted to their abilities. Taking individual prerequisites into account, we form a strong sense of community within the group. Together, we create security, well-being, and knowledge development. Our objective is for students to develop a strong belief in their own abilities and for us to succeed in awakening a lifelong desire for learning and development. We work in smaller classes with good access to staff so that all students are met with respect in their learning and social development. We strive to be clear and structured so that all students get a sense of coherence and can live up to the expectations placed upon them.

We are now looking for a Physical Education Teacher starting the autumn term of 2026. The position is 80% with placement at our facility at Hagavik School with students in grades 7-9. There is also an opportunity to fill out the position with another assignment of 20%, making the total position 100%. You will be responsible for planning and conducting teaching according to the adapted primary school curriculum and the established common operational structures and pedagogical methods.

You will be part of a team with other practical-aesthetic teachers, and you have a colleague in Physical Education whose position is at Östra Lugnets School in our grades 4-6. For additional support in your work, our resource team consisting of a special needs pedagogue and a special needs teacher is available.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a teacher at an adapted primary school, you meet students in smaller class sizes, usually seven to nine students. You are given the prerequisites to establish good relationships with the students and see each individual based on their conditions. In the classes, teachers and student assistants work in close cooperation regarding the students' social and knowledge development. Student assistants follow the students through their entire school day, even during practical-aesthetic lessons.

Qualifications:

We primarily seek you who are a certified special needs teacher with a specialization in intellectual disability. We also welcome applications from you who lack special needs teacher certification but who have teacher certification and the qualification to teach Physical Education and Health.
