About the position:

We are now looking for a temporary leisure leader for 60% who wants a fun, varied, and important job in supporting our youth at the boarding school. The temporary position is primarily for about 4 months but may be extended.

The goal of the boarding school is for students to thrive and feel good in order to succeed in their studies. As a leisure leader, you are an adult role model for the students, creating security by being present, organizing, and participating in activities. Part of the job is to inform the youth about the rules that apply and to help them adhere to these.

Job responsibilities

Your main job responsibilities will include:

Having scheduled working hours on weekdays, evenings, 4 days/week

Organizing, planning, and developing an attractive leisure activity

Working to create a calm and safe environment at the boarding school

Planning and conducting various evening activities with the students

Helping students to plan and carry out activities themselves

Collaborating with the school's student health team and mentors as needed

Start date as soon as possible.

About you

You are self-driven, motivated, proactive, energetic, and possess good leadership qualities as well as a flexible attitude. You enjoy working with youth and have an easy time building good relationships. As a person, you are calm, secure, and clear. You can set demands and boundaries in a friendly yet firm manner. At the same time, you can listen, provide comfort, and support students both socially and pedagogically. You have the ability to create a good working climate with security and engagement in the group and meet each student based on their needs and circumstances.

You are a trained leisure leader or have completed a social pedagogical education or another equivalent education. You should also have experience working with youth and hold a B driver's license. Experience from working at a youth center, boarding school, or fieldwork is an advantage. Please mention if you have any special interests and are knowledgeable in any area such as animal care, car mechanics, music, dance, art, gardening, sports, baking, cooking, etc.

About Lillerudsgymnasiet

Lillerudsgymnasiet is a nature-based high school with about 270 students and 80 employees. Here we educate youth for the future. The school offers high school education within the nature conservation program with specializations in: horse care, animal care, agriculture, and natural sciences. Lillerudsgymnasiet is a free school with national intake and about 75% of the students live in the school's student housing. This creates a wonderful family atmosphere at the school.

Lillerudsgymnasiet is beautifully located 15 km west of Karlstad. We have a large school farm with cows, pigs, and sheep, a complete equestrian facility, and a trotting stable at Färjestad's trotting track. We also have a veterinarian, a dog daycare, and an animal house with many different pets.
