Urban Planner at Sala Municipality

Sala Municipality has approximately 22,800 inhabitants and is the largest municipality in Västmanland County by area. We have several smaller towns, and Sala city has about 13,000 residents. Sala has a significant historical importance, primarily due to Sala Silver Mine, which gives it a prominent place on Sweden's map.

We are now looking for a new employee

We are now seeking a new employee to work primarily with detailed planning in our planning and development unit. The unit is responsible for comprehensive planning, detailed planning, exploitation, and the municipality's land ownership. You will work closely with skilled colleagues within the Community Building Office, which also includes the construction unit, environmental unit, alcohol and tobacco unit, and SBK administration. Together, we have the mission to build tomorrow's Sala and to ensure a professional authority exercise with high service. Job Responsibilities

As an urban planner with us, you will primarily work with the municipality's detailed planning work and related tasks, such as developing internal processes, routines, and collaborations. You will also be involved in the municipality's comprehensive planning work. How/where we place the emphasis depends on who you are and your experiences.

You will collaborate with qualified colleagues who are knowledgeable in building permits, land contamination, water & sewage, and project planning. You will have many contacts with construction companies, landowners, and authorities, and you will be one of our important faces outward. And not least, you are a key person in ensuring that tomorrow's Sala is climate-smart, climate-secured, and offers good conditions for both people and businesses.

Qualifications

Your experiences in physical planning will strengthen our capabilities in the planning and development unit. With diverse backgrounds and experiences, and by working closely together, we will tackle the most challenging tasks. Your view on development through collaboration and your willingness to engage with employees, clients/stakeholders, and managers will determine whether you thrive with us.

We believe you are either an educated physical planner, landscape architect, or urban planner. However, you may also have some related education and/or experience in our tasks. If you have several years of experience in the profession, that is certainly an advantage, as is experience working with detailed plans in Geosecma. Additionally, experience working in a politically governed organization and with external actors and clients is advantageous. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and your social skills based on the many contact points the position entails.

You are collaborative - and believe that the results are better when we help each other.

Requirement for a B driver's license.
