Project Manager for Plast på rätt plats

Do you want to lead a project that makes a difference for both the environment and the business community?

The Västerås Business Unit actively works to create the best conditions for the development of businesses in Västerås. Together with other departments, entrepreneurs, and business actors, we strengthen Västerås' position as a leading place for innovation and technology development. We are now looking for a driven project manager with specialist knowledge in environmental and chemical issues to lead our project 'Plast på rätt plats'. Are you the one we are looking for?

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the project manager for the Plast på rätt plats project, you will analyze plastic flows in the manufacturing industry and identify opportunities for improvements. You will work to understand how plastics are procured, used, and what becomes waste. The project aims to provide insights into how plastic affects both companies and the environment, and what opportunities exist to create a more circular economy and sustainable solutions. You will act as a specialist and lead company visits, arrange business meetings, and workshops. You will continuously report to Tillväxtverket and be responsible for purchasing the consulting services required during the project.

Other co-financiers and partners include Region Västmanland, Mälarenergi, and Vafab Miljö. The project runs until autumn 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive in this role, you need to have a post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as engineering in chemistry or sustainability. You have experience working with environmental issues, preferably within the manufacturing industry, and are accustomed to driving projects. We are looking for someone with very good knowledge of environmental and chemical issues, and a good understanding of legislation regarding waste management, circularity, and plastics. Additionally, it is important that you are familiar with the CSRD regulations and how they affect businesses.

You are someone who enjoys leading meetings and presentations, and you have the ability to create an open and constructive dialogue with companies and other external actors. You are self-driven, structured, and have a natural ability to push projects forward. As part of our team, it is beneficial if you have a good understanding of the interplay between business and the public sector, and see the bigger picture in your work.

Does this sound like an exciting challenge for you? We warmly welcome you to apply and become part of our dedicated team working for a sustainable future in Västerås!
