Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon emissions and replace cars.

Are you our new Information Designer, Informator, or Technical Writer in Västerås?

Regardless of what you call yourself - the most important thing is that you are a person with a solid technical interest and great technical understanding.

Your future role

You will report to Piotr Okeli (Documentation Manager). The role includes gathering technical information and delivering technical documentation for maintenance and operation manuals. You will also collect information, review and ensure correct content before delivery, and drive development forward in the assigned technical area.

You will be part of a versatile team with a diversity of skills and backgrounds.

We value technical knowledge and a broad overall understanding of systems.

What will you do?

  • Communicate with stakeholders; coordinators, trainers, system engineers, etc.
  • Participate in customer meetings to ensure requirements are met and also in internal meetings for feedback and reporting
  • Collaborate with system engineers for clarification or missing information and follow up on progress
  • Participate in workshops and also at our depots to physically investigate the systems
  • Edit and update documents
  • Develop technical documentation in XML, such as technical descriptions, maintenance instructions, troubleshooting instructions, driver manuals, etc.
  • Review, update, and translate technical documentation
  • Create and update illustrations
  • Administer and update revisions

Who are you?

As we are a large organization with many projects, we are looking for both experienced individuals and those at the beginning of their careers. With us, you can develop and be challenged on-site regardless of whether you have many years in the industry or are just starting out.

To succeed in the role, you need to be structured and work according to a clear process, complete what you have started, and meet deadlines. We also believe that you take active initiatives in social situations, step forward, and find it easy to create new relationships. As a person, you also need to be good at communicating clearly. Ensuring that messages get through and that expectations are clear to all stakeholders.

To succeed in the role:

We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we have listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Relevant education in technical documentation, information design, engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience deemed equivalent such as maintenance technician
  • Experience in technical work in the automation industry, aviation, trains, or similar. Or experience as an information designer, informator, or technical writer.
  • Good knowledge of both English and Swedish as documentation is in both languages

Meriting:

  • Practical experience in maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Experience with railway vehicles
  • Experience in Arbortext XML, document management systems (CMS), and scripts
  • Experience with product development databases (PDM systems) and spare parts management

We will be conducting ongoing interviews in January, so submit your application today.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
