Västmanland District Court is an open and modern court in central Västerås. Here, over 90 employees work, making it one of the larger district courts in Sweden. The court handles a large number of criminal cases, civil cases, applications for divorce, bankruptcies, and court cases.

Job duties

You will be placed in one of the court's units. You will have an active role in the work and development of the notaries. The role includes developing, planning, and coordinating certain common internal training initiatives for, primarily, the notaries at the court. You will support the deputy chief judge of the department, especially regarding the notaries, including through introduction, scheduling, vacation planning, and basis for assessments. You will also assist in distributing certain tasks among the department's notaries. You will also work closely with the department's judges and prepare cases yourself. Your own preparation consists of independent legal work, within which area is decided in consultation with your manager and based on your own interest and the needs of the business. Within these frameworks, you have great freedom in how you want to organize your work.

Qualifications

You who apply should have experience from a district court. The work requires very good legal skills, accuracy, and a very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing. As a person, you are driven, structured, and can work independently and result-oriented. You need to be able to structure and prioritize your tasks from an efficient holistic perspective. You are also responsive, have an easy time collaborating with others, and can easily adapt to new situations. You need to have a good ability to coordinate, capture opinions, and navigate between workgroups. As a preparatory legal officer, an interest in mentoring others is required. Experience in these areas may be advantageous. Very great importance will be placed on your personal qualities.
