Organization Description

Kaggeledsbacken is a sign language service housing facility with 9 tenants. Our tenants are deaf and have intellectual, neuropsychiatric, and physical disabilities. The facility deals with challenging behaviors. Many residents have cognitive and communication difficulties, requiring a responsive and structured approach. All our tenants require communication in sign language and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).

Job Responsibilities

As a Coordinating Support Pedagogue, you have the same core responsibilities as a Support Pedagogue, but with an extended role in daily operations. This means you drive pedagogical development work and serve as a coordinating key person in the daily life of the facility. Your placement is at Kaggeledsbacken’s housing with special service, but you may also support day activities and supported living.

As a Support Pedagogue, you contribute to creating a comprehensible, structured, and meaningful daily life for the tenants. You mentor colleagues in interaction and working methods, ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are created and followed, and are an active part of the facility’s quality and improvement work. You work to ensure that the work group has a shared understanding of the tenants' needs and that support is tailored to each individual's conditions.

We are looking for someone who thrives in the role of the "spider in the web"; you have broad collaboration with various professions and value close contact with relatives.

The coordinating role implies that you have an enhanced responsibility for the smooth running of daily operations. You act as a link between the unit manager and the work group, and are responsible for distributing personnel resources based on schedules, job descriptions, and the facility's needs. You ensure there is staff present during, for example, hospital visits and activities, and are available in daily life to support during unforeseen events and situations requiring quick handling. You plan introductions for new employees and temporary staff, follow up on parallel work, and report back to the unit manager. You collaborate with HSL (Health and Social Care Administration) and relevant authorities, support colleagues in delegation processes and the use of IT systems, and identify needs for competence development.

Working hours are during daytime Monday–Friday with flexible agreements. In case of acute events in daily life, you will also cover shifts on-site.

Qualifications

For the position of Support Pedagogue, post-secondary specialization within the disability field is required, comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits combined with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The education must have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

You possess knowledge of Swedish Sign Language and have experience working as a Support Pedagogue.

You have experience working with technical aids, psychiatric diagnoses, intellectual disabilities, nursing care, and tube feeding.

It is meritorious if you have completed a mentoring education and a validation education. Previous work experience with challenging behavior is also valued.

You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the shared mission and work to make it as successful as possible.

You take responsibility for your and the group's tasks.

You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results.

You plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You ensure that work is completed on time and follow up on the results.

Selection and interviews will begin during the application period.

In this recruitment process, you will answer a number of questions describing your knowledge in the field instead of submitting a cover letter.
