The work of the Social Services covers authority functions and execution for the target groups of children and youth, persons with substance abuse issues, persons with mental health issues, persons in need of social assistance, and support due to domestic violence. The administration is divided into the Adult Department, Youth Department, Support and Work Department, and Administration Department. We have a process-oriented approach where collaboration, development, and continuous improvements lead us forward.

The Support and Sustainment Unit consists of three teams: the Integration Team, Reception, and the Motivation Team. Today, the unit comprises a total of 20 employees, 17 of whom are social secretaries within one of the teams, 1 coordinator, and the unit is led by 2 skilled Senior Social Secretaries. There are now two vacant positions in our "motivation group" which works with ongoing social assistance. One of the positions also has a special focus on the group of newly arrived immigrants and those with weak Swedish language skills.

Your immediate manager:

Hello! My name is Henrik and I am the manager of the Support and Sustainment Unit at the Social Services in Alingsås. My goal with the unit is for us to become really skilled at helping our clients achieve self-sufficiency, and I see that the key to this relies on high participation and that we all help each other in the unit to improve our processes and working methods together with our culture in the unit and the administration.

As a manager, I prioritize transparency and accessibility, along with a trust-based leadership style.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social secretary with us, you will work in a good work climate with engaged and proactive colleagues who are eager to help each other and a competent management that prioritizes accessibility.

In your role, you have a great responsibility for helping your clients move forward on the path to self-sufficiency, where collaboration with other actors is a crucial part of the work's success. You also work with investigating and assessing the right to social assistance.

The unit has for some years had a strong focus on social work helping clients to self-sufficiency, a work that will now take even more space based on the new law on activity requirements. The handling of cases is facilitated with the help of e-services, digital applications, and a social assistance robot that compiles information and performs certain checks for us.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • Social Work degree or equivalent higher education
  • You are well acquainted with the legislation regarding authority functions as well as the Social Services Act and its areas of responsibility
  • You are well versed in the case handling process with the required documentation
  • Work experience within social work

Merits:

  • Experience with authority functions and economic assistance
  • Category B driver's license

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: According to agreement.
