Do you want to make a real difference?
To our unit Boendestöd Centrum 1 (Housing Support Centre 1), we are looking for an engaged support assistant for a fixed-term position. Here you will find stimulating and flexible work with significant personal responsibility – where you contribute every day to giving people the opportunity to live a more independent life.
About the role
As a support assistant within housing support, you will meet people with various functional variations – primarily within psychiatry and neuropsychiatry, but also with intellectual disabilities. The work may also involve substance abuse issues and co-morbidity. Your task is to support each individual based on their needs and conditions – always with the goal of strengthening independence in daily life. The fixed-term position covers 6 months with good opportunities for extension.
Your role
With us, no day is like the other. You work both practically and relationally, motivating and supporting the user pedagogically to find strategies and routines that work in daily life.
The work takes place in the user's home based on the implementation plan, and may involve support in everything from social and physical activities to structure in daily life, contact with authorities, and practical tasks such as shopping and cleaning. Breaking isolation through meaningful activities is an important part of the assignment.
How we work
The housing support has a mobile working method, where documentation and schedules are handled digitally. Sometimes we perform digital interventions, which means you should feel confident using IT support in daily work.
You are responsible for social documentation, including implementation plans and summaries, which requires good ability to express yourself in both speech and writing.
About you
We are looking for you who have previous experience with the target group and education in social work as a support assistant, or other education in the field that the employer considers equivalent. Thus, you have experience working with people within psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, or similar target groups, and good knowledge of social services processes and work based on IBIC (Individual-Based Intervention Concept). It is meritorious if you have worked within housing support.
You need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which implies a requirement for approved grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements may be offered a language test through the test provider Educateit. You also have experience working with pedagogical methods such as MI (Motivational Interviewing) and ESL (English as a Second Language - *Note: In Swedish context 'ESL' often refers to specific pedagogical approaches or is a typo for another method, but translated literally here. Given the context of Swedish social work, it likely refers to specific communication strategies, but we keep the acronym as in source.*)
As a person, you have a good ability to work independently and structured, have good judgment, and a genuine interest in development. You are confident in yourself, find it easy to collaborate, and meet changes with a positive and solution-focused approach. The work is scheduled with working hours during the day, evening, and weekend.
Other information
Selection and interviews begin during the application period. In this recruitment, you will answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the field instead of sending a cover letter.
Before an employment offer, we ask you to present an extract from the police criminal record. The requested extract must be unopened. You must request an extract from the police criminal record yourself. This is done via an e-service or with the help of a form available on the police website (Form for request for extract from the register for an individual, extract no. 442.3).
