About the workplace

We are now looking for an engaged support educator (stödpedagog) for the group home at Kärrvägen in Nol. Here, tenants live with decisions according to the LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). The operations are based on respect for individual self-determination and integrity, and we actively work to create a safe and meaningful everyday life for each individual.

As a support educator, you work closely with the residents to support their development and independence. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that interventions are implemented in accordance with legislation and that the individual's needs are always at the center.

We have a salutogenic approach, where the everyday life of each individual should be comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful. To strengthen participation and self-determination, we use clarifying pedagogy, low-affective handling, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).

We strive for continuous development and quality improvement, which means that you as a support educator have an important role in driving pedagogical processes and strengthening the operations.

Job Description

In the role of support educator, you have pedagogical responsibility to work together with your colleagues to create conditions for the tenants to have a functional, structured, and meaningful everyday life.

Your main tasks include:

• Plan, implement, and follow up on individually adapted interventions based on the tenants' needs and goals in their implementation plans.
• Lead operational meetings. Use and implement pedagogical methods, such as clarifying pedagogy and AAC, to promote participation and independence.
• Mentor, motivate, and support colleagues in using these methods and approaches.
• Document interventions and follow up on individual goals in the Treserva system.
• Work with low-affective handling and find solutions to prevent and manage challenging behaviors, as well as otherwise follow LSS legislation.
• Collaborate with relatives, colleagues, and other actors regarding the individual's needs.

The position involves work during days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

In your role, you are a support and guide for each individual employee and the work group. You mentor the work group based on the operations' needs and methods by being present in the direct operations. To do this, you need to have a motivating and pedagogical approach and be good at sharing knowledge.

We are looking for you who have work experience with the target group. You have worked actively as a support assistant or support educator within LSS.

You should have broad knowledge and experience working with people with autism and various functional variations.

You need to be well acquainted with LSS legislation.

You should have knowledge and experience of low-affective handling and clarifying pedagogy. Additionally, knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) as well as being confident in social documentation and drawing up and following up on implementation plans. You have good computer skills.

We are looking for you who are secure and stable in your professional role. In the role, it is important that you take responsibility for your tasks, plan, organize, and prioritize work in an effective way. It is also important that you are flexible and can adapt to the operations' needs. Ability to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing, is required as documentation is part of the work.

To work as a support educator, post-secondary education in the field of disability is required, corresponding to a two-year folk high school or equivalent pedagogical orientation, for example, a vocational higher education (YH) program, or at least 60 higher education credits in areas relevant to the operations that the employer deems equivalent.

Meritorious for the position is experience with documentation in the IT support Treserva.
