Do you want to work in a small municipality with big opportunities?

You are warmly welcome to join us at Munkedal Municipality!

Munkedal Municipality is located in Northern Bohuslän, between Oslo and Gothenburg. Here, forests, rivers, and the sea meet, and distances are short between people and results. Working with us, you will be close to both colleagues and operations, with the opportunity to influence and make a difference in everyday life. We build on what is already strong and develop what makes people want to live, work, and thrive here. Development is created through interaction between residents, businesses, associations, and the municipality. This means that as an employee, you drive change together with others. We focus on people's well-being and strive for Munkedal Municipality to be a place where people enjoy living and would recommend to others.

The Welfare Administration's task is to help people who, due to age, disability, economic or family problems, need various forms of support and assistance. The Welfare Administration consists of the departments Care, Support and Elderly Care, and IFO (Individual and Family Care). The Care, Support and Elderly Care department consists of units within elderly housing, home care services, municipal primary healthcare, and LSS (The Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). The IFO department consists of social services, the employment unit, social psychiatry, and the assistance unit.

Do you also want to become a valuable team member? We are currently looking for you who wants to become our new Family Therapist.

Within the Individual and Family Care department, we are now looking for a Family Therapist. Our family therapist team consists of six employees, and we work on behalf of our investigating social secretaries, as well as with interventions not requiring needs assessment. As a Family Therapist in Munkedal, you have access to close methodological support from the operational unit manager.

You work in close collaboration with all functions within IFO's operations, which is facilitated by us being gathered in shared premises. We also collaborate with preschools, schools, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), police, and other societal actors. We look forward to your participation and contribution in both internal and external collaboration.

Description of the work

The Family Therapists work with children and their families in individually designed family therapy at home. The assignments are given by investigating social secretaries and can be appointed both during the investigation and after the investigation is concluded, as a needs-assessed assistance measure. We also offer the possibility of counseling as an intervention for families without needs assessment for a limited time.

The work requires close cooperation with investigators, with the family in focus. As a Family Therapist, you may also receive assignments from child secretaries who work with placed children. This can involve support in interactions with biological parents or support for young adults who, after foster care placement, are moving into adult life.

In this Family Therapist position, 40% of the working time is allocated to the Family Center, where the function is to represent social services in the Open Preschool together with a preschool teacher. At the Family Center, the assignment includes identifying parents who may need support in various forms, based on social services' mandate to work with early interventions without needs assessment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • is a social worker or social pedagogue with a university degree, or alternatively has another educational background that the employer considers equivalent.
  • can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • have a B driver's license, as we are a sparsely populated municipality with several communities outside the municipal center.
  • have experience working as a Family Therapist (meritorious).
  • have knowledge of evidence-based methods in social work (meritorious).

Your personal qualities are important to us, and we will place great emphasis on them. We value that you are secure and stable in your professional role, with the ability to structure and take responsibility for your work. You need to have good collaboration skills, a respectful approach, and a humble attitude towards those you meet in your daily work. Likewise, you must have the ability to analyze and structure information, see connections, and show good judgment in action and decision-making, even in complex situations.

We offer you

  • We continuously work for a good working environment within IFO and view education through competence initiatives, external process counseling, and internal method counseling as important parts for our employees to thrive and develop. We utilize each other's varied competencies and develop operations across group boundaries.
  • For us, work-life balance is important, and we have the privilege of having a reasonable workload as well as offering flexible working hours.
  • The health of our employees is important to us, both at and outside work; therefore, we offer among other things a generous wellness allowance, discounts on gym memberships, and access to the training facility Styrkan.

We want to inform you about

  • If necessary, the work, depending on the nature of the assignment, may involve some work outside regular working hours.
  • You must provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) before employment.
  • Probationary employment may possibly be applied.
  • We will call for interviews only after the application period ends on 2026-08-02.

To be considered for employment, you must at the interview:

  • show a valid ID document
  • if necessary, present a copy of your certificate/diploma
  • have the right to work in Sweden and be able to present a valid work permit
  • if necessary, present a valid driver's license

  • a security clearance check is performed. If you become relevant for such a position, a passed security clearance is required.
  • a check is made against the IVO (Swedish Health and Care Professionals Agency) register.
  • you need to be a Swedish citizen, but are welcome to have a foreign background.

We value the qualities that diversity and equal gender distribution bring to the operations and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds and life experiences.

We warmly welcome your application - we look forward to hearing from you!

We kindly but firmly decline direct contact from staffing and recruitment agencies as well as sellers of additional job advertisements.
