Welcome to Alingsås!

As an employee in our municipality, you have all the opportunities to contribute to the development of our operations and workplace. With nearly 4,000 employees, we are large enough to drive change and small enough for everyone to have an impact and room for their ideas. This is a place for innovators. Together, we create Alingsås!

A safe and inspiring work environment

The Social Services Administration is housed in an old candy factory, a spacious brick building from 1888. The different units within the administration's departments are gathered in these pleasant premises, which allows us to easily have enriching collaborations. Alingsås is a bike-friendly city where you can easily get around on our service bikes. We also have a well-maintained car park for longer trips. If you come by your own car, you have free parking during working hours outside the office, and there are good commuter connections. In our lunch cafeteria, we have a café host who adds that little extra touch.

Children & Youth Units

The Children & Youth units consist of four investigation groups, each with a lead social secretary, a joint reception with its own lead social secretary, and a method support team. Our target group includes children and young people aged 0–18 and their parents. On the units, we work together actively on working environment, well-being, participation for all, and competence development. With us, you get the chance to join a work group that is truly exceptional when it comes to genuine well-being, consideration, lack of hierarchy, and competence!

During the year, we have made a conscious effort to strengthen our operations by increasing staffing. As part of this development, we have established a fourth investigation group, which creates good conditions for a sustainable work environment, reasonable workload, and high quality in our work with children, young people, and their families.

We are now looking for new colleagues as current employees move on to new assignments within the administration. Thanks to our long-term investment in staffing and organization, you will become part of a secure and well-functioning unit with good conditions for success in your role. We value a sustainable work situation and work actively to create secure and long-term staffing that provides good conditions for both employees and the children and families we meet.

When you start with us, we offer you:

  • A thorough introduction based on our introduction program, adapted to your needs
  • Accessible and experienced management
  • Competence development and new steps in your professional growth
  • A three-day internal training in Signs of Safety
  • Flexible working hours to help you achieve a better balance between work and private life
  • Opportunity to work partially remotely
  • Wellness allowance, which you can use, for example, at the fitness center in our building, as well as a bike benefit
  • Reflection time every week
  • Work organized in phases, meaning you have longer periods where you focus on existing cases without receiving new ones
  • Option to convert your vacation pay into extra days off

Job Responsibilities

We believe we have one of the best and most important jobs in the world! We want people to be able to work in this role for a long time, even as private life develops and changes; therefore, we have developed both support and organization.

BBiC and Signs of Safety permeate all our work, based on the goal that all our children and families are treated with respect, are involved and have influence, and that their and the network's resources are utilized, always with the child's safety, security, and best interests as the starting point. Your lead social secretary is an important support, and you will have continuous supervision.

For those with more experience in the profession:

An introduction program will also be created for you, adapted to your needs. Depending on your experience, you will be offered continuing education both within the Regional Association's (GR) "Yrkesresan" and in other evidence-based methods.
