About the Job

We are currently looking for a Social Worker (Socialsekreterare) for the "Children and Youth 1" unit within the North East Social Services Administration. Here, you will work with investigations and follow-ups regarding the protection and support needs of children and young people according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law of Urgent Measures (LVU). You will work closely with children, young people, and their families, as well as collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners. The role often involves complex issues such as vulnerability, crime, norm-breaking behavior, and honor-related issues. The work is demanding but meaningful, requiring high professionalism, sound judgment, and legally secure case handling. The child's rights, participation, and best interests are always the starting point in our work.

For us, it is important that we perform high-quality social work. Therefore, we use workload measurements and a staffing system to ensure reasonable workloads and opportunities for recovery. Combined with regular supervision and training, we believe this provides good conditions for achieving good results for those we serve. We work with several evidence-based methods such as Signs of Safety, EARL, SAVRY, and ERASOR. Training is provided continuously and is linked to our competence development plan.

We are keen that you receive an introduction upon joining us, regardless of your years in the profession, which will give you the prerequisites to perform your work in accordance with current legislation, routines, and guidelines at the workplace. The introduction is conducted via an introduction coordinator in the administration in collaboration with the Senior Social Worker and the Unit Manager.

The unit is involved in development and neighborhood work related to the transition to the new Social Services Act. We work, among other things, with "Rätt kurva" (The Right Curve) and other development initiatives that strengthen early, preventive, and more accessible social work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a degree in Social Work (Social Work/Socionom), as this is a requirement for the position. Experience in authority exercises (myndighetsutövning) is meritorious, and especially experience in authority exercises within the field of children and young people. Since we work according to the Signs of Safety method, training and knowledge in this method is also meritorious. A B-class driving license is also considered an advantage.

We are looking for you who take responsibility for your and the shared tasks with the best interests of the operations/clients in focus. You take your tasks seriously, complete what you have started, and ensure that the work is carried out correctly. You are communicative and have the ability to convey information and ideas, both orally and in writing, as well as the ability to express the core of an argument in a clear and effective manner. Furthermore, you adapt your communication to the recipient, target group, and situation.

As a social worker, you start from the equal value of all people, have a good attitude characterized by showing respect and consideration to those you meet, and have an open and positive attitude as you base your actions on the client's needs. Much of our work is based on documentation, which involves deadlines, placing demands on you to work in a structured manner.

As a social worker, you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals, as the work largely relies on collaboration within and outside the unit. You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole.
