About the Organization

SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården receives non-school-age boys with psychosocial challenges, criminal backgrounds, and substance abuse issues. The home has recently undergone an organizational transition from LVM care to LVU care and is now entering an exciting phase of development. Currently, the institution consists of four units but will expand to include more over the coming year. We are focusing on staff density and will be increasing our workforce, which is why we are currently looking for new team members.

Job Description

Do you want to make a vital difference in the lives of vulnerable young people? If so, a position as a Treatment Assistant at SiS is for you. Your main objective is to motivate our youth toward new, lower-risk ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, your role is to provide care and therapeutic support. You will help ensure that daily routines on the unit run smoothly and play a key role in creating stability and safety for our young residents. You will be responsible for the foundation of daily life, including school attendance, cleaning, cooking, and more. The work can be physically demanding at times, as you will participate in physical activities with the youth and respond to alarms. You will also help maintain order and security on the premises according to established routines. Documentation is an important part of your role. You will build trusting relationships and contribute to providing the safety young people need to break old patterns. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and care coordinators, you will have the opportunity to achieve positive results and drive change. The job can be challenging but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied.

Working hours are scheduled across days, evenings, and weekends. As an employee, you will have access to Netwic, a platform where you can register your availability for shifts you can work.

Qualifications

You must also have:

• A post-secondary education of at least two years from an adult education college, vocational university college (KY/YH), or equivalent. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.*
• B-class driver’s license
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

Your personal suitability is key to facilitating life-changing outcomes. Therefore, you must have strong skills in fostering engagement and participation. Equally important is a grounded positive view of people, strong empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You possess excellent communication skills and can remain calm under pressure. You also work well collaboratively and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.
