Our client Tindra has made a significant decision and we therefore need to expand the team. We are looking for you who are empathetic and have a big heart that you are truly open to sharing. Tindra needs staff who invest in her life and who genuinely want to commit to a long-term and engaged employment. She bonds with and attaches herself to her staff, so you need to be prepared to let her close to you.

She lives in her own terraced house in the southern parts of Stenungsund. A driver's license and experience driving manual cars are required for the position. Total non-smoking is another requirement Tindra has. As a personal assistant to Tindra, you need to be active and resourceful, and ready for every day to look different, while many things remain constant – all to create safety and predictability in her life.

You will participate in all activities and support Tindra in all the ways she needs, everything from ADL activities to excursions and scheduled activities.

You will become one of 9 assistants in her group and will receive thorough introduction from those who already work here. We want to be clear that we are looking for two people who view their employment long-term and are willing to work hard to get along together. This is of great importance as the client has double assistance at certain times, meaning you work two and two with the client. There is a small dog in the family, so you cannot be allergic or afraid of dogs.

The Assistant's Role and Experience

The client has autism combined with a severe intellectual disability and epilepsy, and therefore needs assistants who are skilled at reading her daily condition. You need to be able to adapt the demands based on how she feels and her energy levels, and it is there – when you succeed in this – that you will receive direct feedback from her that you click with each other. She likes to hug and show appreciation to her assistants, so it is important that you can "hug back" in a genuine way in these situations.

Tindra needs a clear picture schedule and to know what is going to happen. If you have experience working with clarifying aids and support signs, this is highly appreciated.

You are welcome to have some form of pedagogical education and experience working in a home environment. To succeed in this job, you also need experience working in a low-affective manner and be accustomed to challenging behavior, as her well-being can vary over time.

Desirable Experience

• Previous work with autism.
• Knowledge and experience of low-affective interaction.
• Enjoy being physically active, such as cycling, swimming, long walks, etc.
• Fluent in Swedish.
• Interest in song and music and preferably play an instrument.
• Ability to read and follow the client according to their daily condition.

Working Hours/Employment Level

• Part-time position 50% with 1 out of 4 weekends.
• Part-time position 80% with 2 out of 4 weekends.
• Start at the end of summer with introduction.
• We plan to adjust the schedule initially to 09:00–18:00, before ramping up to regular hours 07:00–15:00 and 15:00–22:00 when Tindra is accustomed.
