About the job

Do you want to be part of developing a complex operation where your commitment makes a real difference? We are now looking for a support teacher with a coordinating role at Hundraårsgatan 32, floor 3.

The residence is aimed at adults with acquired brain injury who have extensive care needs, sometimes in combination with mental illness. Many have cognitive and communication difficulties, which requires an attentive and structured approach to work as well as the ability to use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

As a coordinating support teacher, you have the same basic assignment and responsibility as a support teacher but with an expanded assignment in daily operations. This means that you both drive the pedagogical development work and function as a coordinating key person in the daily life of the operation.

In the role of support teacher, you contribute to creating a comprehensible, structured and meaningful everyday life for the tenants. You mentor colleagues in meeting and working methods, ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are drawn up and followed, and are an active part of the operation's quality and improvement work. You work to ensure that the work group has a common understanding of the tenants' needs and how the support should be designed based on each individual's conditions.

In addition, the coordinating assignment means that you have an increased responsibility for the daily operation to function. You are a link between the unit manager and the work group, and are responsible for distributing personnel resources based on schedules, job descriptions and the needs of the operation. You regularly talk with users to ensure that they receive the right support, help and treatment. You ensure that there is staff during, for example, hospital visits and activities, and are available in everyday life to support in the event of unforeseen events and situations that require quick handling. You plan introductions for new employees and hourly substitutes, follow up on side-by-side work and report back to the unit manager. You collaborate with HSL and relevant authorities around the tenants, support colleagues in delegation processes and in the use of the operation's IT systems, and identify needs for competence development in the group.

Working hours are during daytime Monday-Friday with a flexible agreement. In the event of acute events in everyday life, you also replace staff out in the operation.

About you

For the position of support teacher, post-secondary specialization in the disability area is required, comprising at least 200 YH points or 60 university credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least two semesters of full-time studies. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area throughout its entirety.

Good communication skills are an important part of the work, which means that you must have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet this requirement, you may be offered to take a language test via the test user Educateit. We are looking for you who have experience working as a support teacher. It is also a requirement that you have good computer skills, knowledge of social documentation and experience of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).

Experience of working within care and social services and with the target group of people with acquired brain injury is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience of leading groups. Knowledge of the following methods is also seen as meritorious: low-affective treatment, AAC, clarifying pedagogy, TAKK, ESL, IBIC and MI.

We are looking for you who are pedagogical, communicative and confident in challenging situations. You work in a structured way, take initiative and contribute actively to development and improvement in the operation.
