We are now looking for a residential support worker for our team at Ekholma. We offer training and a developing job where you make a difference! Due to increased staffing needs, we are now happy to expand our team with 3 residential support workers. The positions correspond to 75–90% employment levels each.

About Ekholma

Ekholma is located in a beautiful coastal area by the Havsstenfjord in Uddevalla Municipality, near Lanesund. The facility is a group home under the LSS Act (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) targeting individuals with diagnoses within the autism spectrum or intellectual disabilities. The residence has space for 6 people and will be fully occupied shortly.

There are very limited possibilities to travel to Ekholma by public transport, so a valid B-driver's license and access to a car are required.

The work group currently consists of 8 permanent employees working days, evenings, and every other weekend, along with night shifts and a strong team of substitutes. As a colleague to this team, you can expect close collaboration with staff who possess high and multi-year competence focused on the area of operations, joy, and community.

About the role

In the role of residential support worker, you base your actions on the residents' individual needs and wishes, providing support in daily life from a pedagogical approach. Together with other employees, you work towards the goal of making the day meaningful and content-rich. You support and guide with personal care, meals, medication management, cleaning, social contacts, and communication. An important part of the work is to stimulate and motivate the resident to develop their abilities and create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time. Your duties also include documenting and planning based on implementation plans. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends.

You have a coordinator close to you who spends part of their time working in the facility. This can also be a future career opportunity for you.

Your experience and knowledge

You who apply have a high school education in care and nursing or another equivalent education. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, good computer skills, and experience with documentation. It is meritorious if you have experience working with the target group. Otherwise, your CV is not the most important thing. If you have the right qualities, we will give you support and the opportunity to grow.

A B-driver's license is a requirement. Experience working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and clarifying pedagogy is highly meritorious.
