About the Operation

Härnösand Upper Secondary School is a cohesive upper secondary school that has gathered its operations in a campus area. Alongside the wide range of national programs, the school offers introductory programs, adapted upper secondary school, nationally recruiting maritime education, and sports education, together with the municipality's Culture School. The school consists of approximately 900 students and 125 employees, and we provide good conditions for both learning and safety. Our school has a local student health service consisting of various competencies that, together with teachers and pedagogical staff, work for a school environment where students can develop in the best possible way.

Together, all teaching teams, student health teams, and school management strive to offer a sustainable education of high quality and with good school culture, accessible learning environments both pedagogically, physically, and socially, as well as to offer and develop excellence within the school's programs.

Responsibilities

In this position, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in workshop and vehicle subjects, with a focus on giving students relevant knowledge for today's and tomorrow's labor market. The work takes place both in a workshop environment and in the classroom, which means that you work closely with students in their daily learning. You have a clear mandate to create structure, clarity, and security in the teaching.

You collaborate with other teachers, student health services, study and career guidance, and as needed with external actors such as companies and industry representatives. The assignment also includes contributing to the school's pedagogical development and quality assurance, among other things by following steering documents, participating in team work, and developing teaching based on students' needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a stable professional background in the workshop or vehicle field and who want to share your competence with the next generation. You thrive in an environment where you get to combine practical work, pedagogy, and relationship building. The assignment involves responsibility, structure, and clarity, but also much joy when you see students develop and succeed.

We are looking for you who have:

• professional experience in workshop work or vehicle technology
• good knowledge of basic workshop work and vehicle technology, for example tool handling and safety routines
• pedagogical ability and interest in educating, guiding, and supporting young people
• good habit of working with digital tools and technical equipment
• good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• teacher certification with eligibility as a vocational teacher, or alternatively willingness to complete supplementary pedagogical education

It is meritorious if you:

• have experience or knowledge in welding, metal processing, or maintenance of mechanical equipment
• have competence in engines, refrigeration technology, or ventilation
• have teaching experience from upper secondary school or adult education
• are familiar with the national steering documents for upper secondary school
• have experience of cooperation with industry companies or internship supervision
