Temporary position as student support staff in preschool class at Ånge Primary School. Our municipality, and thus our operations, are growing and we need more educators. In the education department, we work according to the "red thread", a common view on development and learning with a democratic value base in all our operations. In Ånge Municipality, we train all our staff in neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) to make our operations NPD-safe, we train all staff in mental training as well as in what a language and knowledge-developing working method (SKUA) is and entails. We are looking for a Science/Math teacher for Ånge Primary School for the autumn term 2026.

Responsibilities

We are looking for support staff in the classroom as well as at the after-school center before and after school hours. As support in the classroom, you support students in their learning during lessons led by teachers. You participate during students' recesses where you support students in conflict management, taking turns, and social interaction. At the after-school center, you ensure the safety of students during indoor and outdoor activities. You participate in pedagogical meals and participate in/lead activities based on the steering documents for the after-school center.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is patient and confident in themselves, who has experience supporting and leading children and young people. We are looking for a person who has a good ability to build good relationships with children, young people, and other adults. If you have previous experience working with children, that is meritorious. You are positive and solution-focused, flexible and cooperative, low-affective and patient. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

About the Operations

Ånge Primary School consists of two buildings but is one school, Björken (Preschool/Preschool Class, grades 1-5) and Ugglan (grades 6-9). Ånge Primary School currently has approx. 370 students. The principals have a common ambition to lead and distribute work at the schools based on trust and confidence. We have high expectations both of ourselves and of every employee. Ånge Primary School is organized with teaching teachers as well as teacher resources, schoolyard teachers, and student health teams. The schoolyard teachers work at the after-school center in the afternoons; during the school day, they are safety personnel and resource in the classroom. The schoolyard teachers offer organized recess activities during students' breaks. The student health team includes counselors, school nurses, special education teachers, career counselors, and principals; we also have access to a school psychologist and speech therapist. Every week, the student health team participates in student health meetings (EHM) with the work teams as well as in student health team meetings (EHT). We collaborate with Social Services, the Child and Youth Entrance, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP), Rehabilitation, Health Center, Police, and others. The school is located in Ånge center, which means we have walking distance to an ice hall, football fields, athletics track, riding arena, disc-golf, outdoor gym, multisport arena, gym, jogging trail, forest, green areas, hiking trails, swimming area, library, community house/civic center with cinema, theater workshop, music school/culture school, municipal office, train and bus station, numerous shops, restaurants, and cafes. We have good cooperation opportunities with business life and associations. We have good commuting opportunities by train from both Östersund and Sundsvall, with walking distance to the school.
