Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium has two school buildings, Parkskolan and Nolaskolan. A total of approximately 1,800 students study with us, and we offer a wide range of vocational programs, university-preparatory programs, introductory programs, and adapted upper secondary school. Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium is a training school, which means that student teachers (VFU) are a regular part of the school. We are the first choice for the majority of the municipality's upper secondary students and have good study and well-being results.

We are now looking for a secondary school teacher in Swedish and English for the vocational programs at Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium. The position is between 80-100%.

Responsibilities

You will teach English and Swedish at the upper secondary level. Your work includes teaching, planning, documentation, and contact with students and guardians.

The role also involves participating in collaborative work with subject teams and work groups. Industry orientation is important, and you will be expected to incorporate the students' specializations into your subjects.

The responsibilities include student mentoring. This entails responsibility for following up on and supporting your mentees and actively participating in student health work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified upper secondary school teacher with subject competency in English and Swedish.

You want to create a good learning environment in the classroom and are a clear leader with the ability to create structure, context, and good relationships. It is important that you want to work in subject and work teams centered around the students and develop your professional skills together with other driven and ambitious colleagues. In accordance with the assignment, you can also take individual responsibility and work independently. You need to be able to lead group processes and adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Since we work with digital systems for documentation, information, and communication, it is a prerequisite that you feel comfortable with this and are not afraid to learn new things.

The employment is permanent, provided that you have a teaching license.
