RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a study and career counselor who will be primarily based at Högakustenskolan (grades 7-9). The role also includes study and career counseling for the municipality's preschool classes to grade 6 schools, as well as the adapted primary school.

Your duties will involve guiding students and collaborating with guardians and staff.

At Högakustenskolan and the adapted primary school, you will guide and inform our students individually and in groups regarding future study and career choices. You will also handle administration related to upper secondary school selection, as well as plan and follow up on work experience placements (PRAO). You will work on collaboration between school and working life.

Together with educators and the student health team at Högakustenskolan, you will work proactively and preventively to improve student health and achieve higher goals for all students.

You will also serve as a support for staff at several schools in the municipality regarding studies and working life, promoting school/working life collaboration. You will collaborate with our other study and career counselor in the primary school to revise and develop our study and career counseling plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are trained as a study and career counselor.

For this role, you need to have good knowledge of the education system, the labor market, and its competence needs. In addition, we are looking for you who are a secure and stable adult with the ability to motivate students and create a safe and inclusive school environment. You have high expectations for the students and want them to succeed.

You have good collaboration skills and the ability to build good relationships with students and guardians.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability and professional competence, where independence, collaboration skills, and flexibility are important. It is also important that you enjoy working in a team, have a positive attitude, and are communicative.
