If you are new to your profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality offers an induction program for new teachers. During your first year, you will be assigned a mentor—an experienced teacher with the same subject competence—who can guide and support you.

Responsibilities

You will teach music in grades 1–6. You will have overall responsibility for the student group, which includes handling the documentation and contacts with guardians that this entails. Collaboration with guardians is an important part of the job. Together with a work team, you will plan, implement, and follow up on the teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teacher's degree and subject competence in music. We seek someone who enjoys being challenged and thinking creatively, and who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a confident adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is second nature to you.

We would appreciate it if you have experience in leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the skill to adapt teaching to the needs of the group and individuals. You are perceptive, responsible, engaged, and creative.

During the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Acceptable documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or another ID document that proves citizenship. For some positions, extracts from the Police's suspicion and criminal records are required.

We appreciate knowledge of Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

Several positions in our municipality are classified for security, so security clearance checks may be conducted. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
