Responsibilities

Your task will be to lead and drive the pedagogical work in the after-school center (fritidshem) together with other educators, based on the curriculum and other governing documents.

As an after-school educator, you will play a key role in daily operations, using a conscious approach to enable children to discover and develop their abilities in a comprehensive manner. A crucial part of the job is ensuring that all children are seen and feel that they have a clear place at the school and the after-school center.

You are responsible for providing children with a learning, challenging, meaningful, creative, and exciting play and learning environment. Together with your colleagues, you will engage in a continuous pedagogical dialogue with the desire to change, deepen, and develop.

The position is a temporary vacancy starting in August 2026 until June 30, 2027.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a certification as an after-school educator, or a teacher with a focus on after-school centers.

We would prefer that you have previous experience working with groups of children. You have a positive attitude and an interest in developing working methods, as well as spreading knowledge and experiences to colleagues.

We welcome knowledge of Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as the Municipality of Örnsköldsvik is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

In our municipality, a number of positions are classified for security reasons, so a security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
