Are you a driven and responsible teacher with a passion for science subjects and mathematics? We are now looking for substitute teachers in mathematics and science subjects. Other possible subject combinations may be considered as there is some scope for adjustment within the school.

Höglidenskolan is a school located in central Örnsköldsvik, focusing on creating a safe and stimulating learning environment. Our school's guiding principles are "safety, pride, and future," and we are now looking for an engaged team player who, together with the teaching staff, student health services, and school management, wants to help every student reach as far as possible.

For those new to the profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality offers an induction program for new teachers, which means you will have a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject qualifications who can guide and support you.

Responsibilities

You will teach science subjects and mathematics in grades 7–9, or potentially other subjects through dialogue. Some other subject combinations may be possible upon employment, as we have some flexibility in redistributing tasks within the operations. You will be part of a team with other subject teachers and will have overall responsibility for the student group, handling the documentation and contacts this entails.

Contact and cooperation with guardians is an important part of the job. The assignment involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching together with the work team and subject colleagues. Mentoring is included, working with a colleague in one of our classes. You will also actively participate in the school's development and quality work. In your work, we also use a significant amount of digital tools and platforms.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching degree and subject qualifications in science subjects and mathematics, or equivalent competence.

We are looking for someone who likes to be challenged and think new thoughts, seeing differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. For you, leadership is paramount, both in and outside the classroom. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is a matter of course for you. You have a positive attitude and an interest in further developing the operations.

We would appreciate if you have experience leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are receptive, take responsibility, are engaged and creative, with a solution-focused perspective.
