Workplace Description

Högalidsskolan is a municipal primary school located high up at Hornstull on Södermalm. The school is a municipal primary school with approximately 870 students in grades F-9. The staff for the entire unit consists of a total of 150 people. The school leadership consists of a principal, four deputy principals, and an administrative manager.

The school was built in 1921 and has undergone a total renovation of all premises and an upgrade of the schoolyard. The school has its own cooking kitchen as well as administrative staff working with the students. The teaching teams at the school are grade-based, and collaboration to create a strong sense of "we" at the school is very important to us.

The school's ambitions are high, and the school has seen positive development regarding student results, safety, and parents' trust. Högalidsskolan strives to be a school where educators are just as happy as the students.

The school has a well-functioning Student Health Service organized in a team consisting of two school nurses, a psychologist, a counselor, a study and career counselor, a special education teacher, and four special needs teachers.

Job Description

Högalidsskolan is looking for a certified teacher in Mathematics/Science/Technology with a focus on the lower secondary school (grades 7-9).

You will be part of a team with other teachers, and there are additional Mathematics/Science/Technology teachers at the school. Teaching in grades 7, 8, and 9 is included in the assignment, as is shared mentorship in a grade 8 class.

In your assignment, you conduct teaching and related tasks such as preparation and follow-up work for lessons, as well as assessment. We are looking for someone experienced with differentiated instruction and skilled at individualization and adaptation in the classroom. Together, we focus on the students' knowledge development and well-being.

As a teacher, you actively participate in the school's values-based work and work inclusively. You make sure to stay updated as a teacher in your subject.

Mentorship is a central part of your role through social contacts regarding students and classes, contact with guardians, absence management, development conferences, and collaboration with the school's student health team. You are expected to be able to work with digital tools and compensatory aids in your teaching.

The position is 80% and is available from the autumn semester of 2026, starting on August 10th.
