The Norra innerstaden (Northern Inner City) district area consists of the central parts of Stockholm, Norrmalm, and Östermalm. Here, we work to provide our 155,000 residents with the best services in areas such as preschools, social services, elderly care, and urban development. We welcome you who want to make a difference for the residents of Norra innerstaden.

Welcome to us

Do you want to work close to the management in one of Stockholm City's largest preschool organizations and contribute to developing governance, quality, and results for nearly 950 employees and thousands of children?

You will become an important support to the department head and the management group, playing a central role in translating data, steering documents, and political decisions into decision support and development initiatives that make a difference in operations.

What we offer

We offer a developmental role with significant personal responsibility and a focus on our youngest citizens. The position involves close collaboration with the preschool department's management group and a large administration with broad competence.

Here you are offered a good work environment with excellent conditions for combining private life and work, flexible hours, and the possibility of holiday exchange. The administration conducts active health promotion work and offers a health allowance.

Your role

As a Business Controller, you have a central function in the department's governance and development. You work closely with the department head and management group and are responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and following up on the operation's results at the principal level.

In the role, you drive the department's systematic quality work and support managers in matters concerning business planning, follow-up, analysis, investigation, and development. You produce qualified decision support materials and contribute with analyses that help the management prioritize, make well-founded decisions, and develop the business long-term.

The work involves collecting, processing, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data. You write reports, service statements, remiss responses, and other decision support materials, and are responsible for following up on goals, assignments, and results.

You are a qualified support to the department's principals in matters regarding quality, governance, follow-up, and authority requirements. The role involves many contact points both within the administration and with city-wide functions.

Examples of tasks:

  • Coordinate and write materials for the business plan, quarterly reports, business reports, and internal control.
  • Conduct analyses and investigations as support for management decisions.
  • Produce statistics, key figures, and decision support materials, as well as identify trends, risks, and areas for development.
  • Support managers in quality and business development.
  • Process and analyze feedback, complaints, and other cases.
  • Coordinate and follow up on state grants and other targeted assignments.
  • Prepare remiss responses, service statements, and political cases, in close collaboration with the administration's quality department.
  • Monitor the external environment and follow changes in legislation, governance, and national assignments.

The work is varied and changing, so other tasks may occur, and the content and conditions of the work may change over time.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • An academic degree in, for example, political science, public administration, law, social sciences, or another area that the employer considers equivalent.
  • Experience in qualified investigation, analysis, or development work.
  • Experience working closely with managers or management groups.
  • Very good ability to analyze, structure, and summarize complex information.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as well as to write reports, decision support materials, and other qualified texts.
  • Good digital competence and experience working in various business systems.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience from the public sector or a politically governed organization.
  • Knowledge of school legislation and governance of preschools or schools.
  • Experience in systematic quality work.
  • Experience in business governance, follow-up, and analysis.
  • Experience with system support for planning and follow-up, such as Stratsys.
  • Experience with remiss handling, authority exercise, or qualified case processing.
  • Knowledge of public law or administrative law.

Personal qualities

To succeed in this role, we see that you are analytical and can interpret and process data. With a strategic perspective, you see the big picture and understand the consequences of decisions and changes over time. You are independent and proactive, plan and prioritize your work, and take responsibility for ensuring development processes go from idea to implementation.

You can engage others in change work, lead groups, and create structure in complex issues. You are clear in your approach and communication and express yourself well both orally and in writing.

Other

We recruit without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only rely on your CV and a number of questions you will answer when applying for the position.

The recruitment process will consist of two interviews and reference checks.

We warmly welcome your application!
