On the HR department in Södertälje Municipality, a team of just over forty people works to provide support in payroll and employer issues to all operations within the municipality. As our current Payroll Specialist is retiring, we are looking for a new star to become a key cog in our team, helping to further develop our processes into a modern payroll function.

Your Responsibilities

As a Payroll Specialist, you work to ensure correct, legally secure, and efficient payroll administration. You provide support to managers and employees via phone and case management regarding questions related to salary, absence, pension, and employment terms. You review and handle employment documentation, ensure that data is registered correctly and followed up on, and issue various types of certificates, for example for loan applications and unemployment benefits.

The role also involves contributing to the development, follow-up, and quality assurance of payroll processes and routines. A prioritized part of the assignment is to participate in mapping and developing processes to create a more efficient, sustainable, and quality-assured payroll administration. The role also involves contributing to the procurement and implementation of a new payroll system.

Requirements:

  • Experience in payroll administration, preferably in a larger organization.
  • Experience working with collective agreements.
  • Upper secondary education in economics, administration, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Vocational training in payroll or other relevant post-secondary education.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of the Office package, especially Word and Excel.

Merits:

  • University degree in payroll, economics, or HR.
  • Experience in debt management and recoveries.
  • Experience with pension issues and pension administration.
  • Experience working process-oriented and with continuous improvements.
  • Experience working in a municipal or other politically governed organization.
  • Experience with payroll systems and related support systems, such as Personec P, TimeCare, and TimePool.
  • Experience in process mapping, system implementation, or procurement of payroll systems.
  • Experience using AI solutions within the payroll area.
