Kemikum, with over 200 employees, is one of the largest institutions at Stockholm University. Research at Kemikum spans all areas of chemistry, including analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, inorganic and structural chemistry, as well as organic chemistry. Research projects range from theory to experiment, from pure basic research to more applied projects, often with a focus on sustainable chemistry but also advanced analytical methods for chemicals and materials. Kemikum has a very well-developed research infrastructure with a range of equipment supported by qualified staff researchers.

Kemikum is also home to undergraduate education in chemistry as well as three master's programs: analytical chemistry, sustainable chemistry, and organic chemistry. Doctoral education is conducted within five areas: analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and organic chemistry.

The Chemical Section at Stockholm University consists of Kemikum and the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. These institutions provide undergraduate chemistry education at the Chemical Laboratory, where the Office of the Chemical Section & Student Affairs is responsible for course administration, coordination of undergraduate education, and operation of teaching facilities.

The office is now seeking an International Coordinator with a strong focus on handling international students and exchange agreements. Other tasks include study administration, student recruitment, events and fairs, and web administration. Other duties may also occur.

We offer a varied full-time position with many points of contact in an engaged and collaborative team consisting of a director and administrative study director, a study counselor, a study administrator, and a research engineer.

Responsibilities

You will primarily be responsible for coordinating exchange studies for incoming and outgoing students. Duties include among other things:

  • Handling and advising incoming and outgoing exchange students.
  • Informing about and advertising contract places and maintaining exchange agreements.
  • Participating in the faculty's and university's internationalization work.
  • Planning and participating in the reception of foreign students.
  • Study administration in LADOK.
  • Help coordinate and participate in student recruitment events held at the section, faculty, and central levels, such as open days, visits by high school classes, fairs, digital events, etc.

Administrative tasks in systems such as Mobility-Online, Ladok, NyA, and Canvas are included.

Other duties may also occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience coordinating international exchange studies at a university/college or other experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience with the teaching organization within universities/colleges.
  • Good computer skills and experience working with administrative systems.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

The following is considered meritorious:

  • A technical or scientific university degree in chemistry or equivalent competence/experience.
  • Good presentation skills and ability to meet different types of target groups.
  • Experience in communication work and working in web design programs/platforms.

  • Has a good ability to work carefully and take responsibility for their tasks.
  • Is good at collaborating and communicating in a clear and professional manner.

About the Position

Staff at the Office of the Chemical Section & Student Affairs are employed by Kemikum.

The position is permanent on a full-time basis with a six-month probation period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
