Senior Business Controller at BST

BST Group is the leading installation and service group in the Nordics within fire technology, installation, service, consulting, and security solutions, with Norvestor as the PE owner. BST ensures that the fire protection safeguarding our societies and infrastructure is world-class while prioritizing sustainability.

BST is on a strong growth journey, characterized by an entrepreneurial and business-oriented culture where employees are given significant responsibility, good development opportunities, and the chance to influence both operations and future ways of working. The group currently consists of over 700 employees, 29 companies, and generates a turnover of approximately 2.2 billion SEK. BST is located in excellent premises in Hägersten.

The role of Senior Business Controller is part of the group's controller and finance team. The position involves participation in group-level forums, with a primary focus on supporting operations within BST AB (Service, Installation).

The role entails close collaboration with management and business unit managers, acting as a bridge between the group and the operations. As a member of BST AB's management team, you will play a key role in the company's development by proactively generating insights and decision support that drive profitability, efficiency, and growth.

This is a role for someone who wants to do more than just track numbers. You will have the opportunity to influence how financial controlling develops and help shape working methods, processes, and reporting in a growing organization. We believe you thrive in an environment where collaboration, curiosity, and initiative are highly valued, and where you can turn analysis into concrete improvements. As a growing company, we believe you, like us, are someone who enjoys building rather than fitting into a pre-made handbook.

You will report to Carl, Group Head of Business Control, who describes working at BST as follows: "We are an ambitious and non-hierarchical organization with very nice colleagues. Here you get great trust, the opportunity to influence, and the chance to be part of an exciting growth journey."

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Work closely with the CEO, business unit managers, and project managers as a strategic and business-oriented partner in matters concerning profitability, growth, and operational development
  • Generate insights by analyzing the company's results, projects, and key figures, as well as identifying opportunities that strengthen the business and contribute to better decisions
  • Be responsible for the budgeting process for BST AB and monthly present/analyze the results for the units within BST AB
  • Further develop reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes and ensure that management and operations have relevant decision support to achieve their goals
  • Collaborate with the project organization to monitor project development, profitability, and financial health, and contribute to long-term sustainable business decisions
  • Contribute to continued development in digitalization, system support, and reporting solutions, and help shape the future ways of working within Business Control

To thrive in this role, we believe you are someone who combines analytical sharpness with a genuine interest in the operations behind the numbers. You enjoy collaborating with different parts of the organization and are driven by creating structure, insights, and improvements that make a difference. Experience from a changing or growing business is an advantage, but most importantly, you have the ability to turn analysis into business value.

To succeed in the role, you need:

  • An academic degree in economics, a Master of Science in Business and Economics, or equivalent
  • Experience from a similar role in a project-based business with good knowledge of both controlling and accounting
  • Strong system and analytical skills, using AI as a natural support to streamline reporting, analysis, and decision support
  • Experience with IFRS, including "revenue recognition" regarding construction projects and service operations, is highly meritorious
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious experience with Microsoft BC/Dynamics, consolidation systems (e.g., HFM, Aaro), and project modules such as Entré from Hantverksdata.
