Secretariat for EU and International Affairs, Ministry of Climate and Enterprise

Do you have experience with EU affairs and knowledge of the EU's institutions and working methods? The Secretariat for EU and International Affairs is now looking for an EU Coordinator who wants to work with EU affairs within the areas of the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, right in the center of the action.

The duties involve coordinating EU affairs within the ministry, with a focus on issues within the climate and environment, energy, or competitiveness sectors. This includes:

• preparing and coordinating background materials for various EU meetings such as the Environment Council, Energy Council, and Coreper.
• participating in the development of EU affairs within the ministry
• handling ministry-wide orders in the EU field
• planning and implementing political leadership's Europe-related travels and meetings
• supporting the ministry's case handlers and political leadership in handling EU affairs
• collaborating closely with other EU coordinators in the unit, the ministry's counselor and assistant in Brussels, as well as other internal and external contacts, especially the Parliament.

Your background

We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree. Furthermore, you have current experience working with EU affairs, as well as good knowledge of the EU's institutions and working methods. The position requires very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. We consider it advantageous if you have experience working within the Government Offices, experience from the EU Representation in Brussels or another authority or organization with an EU focus, or experience from the EU's institutions. It is also advantageous to have knowledge of EU policy within the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise's areas of responsibility, as well as knowledge of parliamentary work related to EU affairs. If you also have knowledge of French or other languages frequently used within the EU, we consider it very advantageous.

Other

The position is a fixed-term employment until August 14, 2027. Start date by agreement. A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
