Fruängens School is looking for staff

Fruängens School is a comprehensive school (grades 1-9) with 600 students. The school is located adjacent to Fruängen Center with easy access to good public transport connections – subway and buses. The area is characterized by architecture from the 1950s and 60s, but newer residential areas have also been added.

The school consists of six buildings beautifully situated around a schoolyard with pines and large areas for playing and moving around. The classrooms are modern and offer an stimulating working environment. Interactive whiteboards are found in all classrooms, and students have access to their own digital devices.

The school's student health team consists of a special educator, school nurse, counselor, study and career counselor, and special needs teacher.

The position will be filled on the condition that it is not claimed by surplus staff in the City of Stockholm.

The process of filling the position starts immediately, so that teaching can start as early as possible in the autumn semester.

Your role

We are now looking for a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies (Hem- och konsumentkunskap) for grades 6-9 in the comprehensive school and in adapted comprehensive school grades 3-9. This year, 62% of the position is directed towards the comprehensive school grades. The person we are looking for is a certified teacher with broad competence and experience. You are creative and have a good ability to meet and challenge students in their learning and growth. You have good collaboration skills and can adapt to different conditions.

You are part of a work team for the lower secondary school (grades 7-9) and a subject team where you collaborate with colleagues and are an important part of collegial learning to develop teaching. You work alongside a colleague in the same subject and have your own classroom with fully equipped facilities to conduct teaching. Mentorship in a lower secondary class together with a colleague.

As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, teaching, documentation, assessment, and evaluation of the classes you teach.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have high expectations for students' goal achievement, good pedagogical insight, and are clear and engaged to bring out the best in students. You who apply:

• are a certified teacher with qualifications in Home and Consumer Studies
• have a few years of documented experience in the teaching profession
• have experience with digital working methods as an enhancement in teaching.

You have a good ability to design teaching in accordance with curricula, subject plans, and current knowledge requirements. You take responsibility for and have insight into students' results and needs, and structure and adapt your teaching so that a safe and adequate learning environment is created. You involve the student in the planning and develop the student's ability to learn, both independently and together with others.

You are secure, stable, have self-awareness, and are a clear leader in the classroom. You value and create good conditions for collaboration and create good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You plan, organize, prioritize, and analyze your lesson structure as well as other tasks included in your role in an effective manner.
