What we offer you

We offer you a position as a leisure-time centre teacher (fritidslärare) on an age-homogeneous unit with approximately 65 enrolled students. We offer you a context with other leisure-time centre teachers who support each other in the assignment, we offer you school leadership that is engaged with the leisure-time centre. We offer a system for quality work in the leisure-time centre. We offer you a school with a strong focus on developing clarity so that all students can benefit from the leisure-time centre's educational mission.

We have a wide selection of benefits related to activities, well-being, insurance, pension, remote work, and holidays: Our Benefits (#)

The Assignment

The school is a municipal F-3 school in Rimbo. It is located in newly built premises that opened in 2020. The school is organized into four different home bases that are grade-homogeneous.

You work in a grade with approximately 65 students. Both leisure-time centre staff and F-3 teachers work in the grade. Your unit has a large portion of these students enrolled with you. There are 6 people working together on the leisure-time centre around these students. You are responsible for planning the activities structurally and, with the help of visual supports, creating conditions for students to be able to benefit from the activity's opportunities for learning and development based on the requirements of the steering documents. You are expected to plan digitally in the unit's planning templates and publish plans in good time on Unikum for guardians to view. We are developing our language and knowledge-enhancing work in the leisure-time centre and care that everyone has a common view of what the curriculum assignment means for all staff in the leisure-time centre.

You are expected to collaborate with both leisure-time centre colleagues and teaching colleagues, both leisure-time teachers and F-3 teachers, to collaborate on the goals of education.

You should have experience working in multilingual environments and have worked with students needing language support. You need to have knowledge and experience working with students with different needs for special support, for example in the area of NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders).

We work together with evaluations and follow-ups to ensure that our planning takes us in the direction our students need to reach set goals.

You speak and write fluent Swedish and you master English in speech and writing.

Challenges and Opportunities

We have a large student group and a staff-intensive unit. High expectations are placed on organizational skills and the ability to hold on and endure so that routines are well implemented by adults for the sake of the students.

We have clear expectations of the leisure-time pedagogical work and see the time at the leisure-time centre as the main assignment of the three core assignments: afternoon time, break time, and timetabled time. We see collaboration as several different parts. The leisure-time centre and school should collaborate during timetabled time and during leisure-time centre time; the collaboration should be about the students' learning and well-being.

You are responsible for the adherence to the curriculum content on your unit and you are also responsible for the administrative parts of the unit you are responsible for. Tasks are distributed among all employees on the unit.

If you have qualifications in a subject, you can teach it during school time if there is a need at the school; otherwise, you participate in and can be responsible for parts of the timetabled time's content based on your competence.

You have planning time together with other leisure-time centre teachers and school leadership, you have planning time together with your unit, and you have your own planning time for working with your and the unit's assignments.

The grade's staff from school and leisure-time have a morning meeting once a week. The entire leisure-time centre meets every week, and once a month we have planning evenings with school and leisure-time centre grade by grade.
