Teacher Assistant at Gymnasium Skövde

In this role, you will become part of the Child and Education Sector. At our organization, the development of children and young people is at the forefront. Gymnasium Skövde is the collective name for the municipality's two upper secondary schools, Kavelbro and Västerhöjd. Together, the schools offer 16 national upper secondary programs, introductory programs with various specializations, as well as an adapted upper secondary school with three national programs and an individual program. We also offer national sports education programs in handball and football. The schools have a broad international network and exchange programs with other countries. We are also part of the Technology College and the Care and Nursing College. Gymnasium Skövde currently has approximately 2,300 students and 300 employees. Job Responsibilities

Do you want a job where you are a vital part of young people's development? We are looking for you who are passionate about working with young people aged approximately 16–20 who need extra support from adults around them on introductory programs.

In your role as a teacher assistant, you will plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently in consultation with school management, teachers, student health services, and other staff. You will take on a mentor role for some of our students and be part of a work team.

Qualifications

You who apply to us are a person who is calm, stable, and composed even in stressful situations. You find it easy to build and maintain relationships with students and staff. To thrive in this role, you are someone who has a good understanding of how humans acquire knowledge and that everyone has different prerequisites and backgrounds. You can adapt your communication style based on the situation and needs, and you have a low-affective approach in your interactions.

It is important that you have good collaboration skills, are receptive, and resolve any conflicts in a constructive manner.

You have the ability to work together with other staff to create opportunities for security and study peace, leading to high goal achievement for our students. The work may involve coordinating groups, creating engagement and participation among students, and developing value-based work at the unit together with other staff.

It is an advantage to be educated as a social pedagogue, leisure-time pedagogue, leisure-time leader, or similar. We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position.

To begin working in preschool, school, after-school centers, and other pedagogical activities, you are required to show an extract from your criminal record.
