Description
Are you engaged, do you have high expectations of both students and yourself, and do you enjoy working in a team? Do you want the opportunity to work with students in an adapted learning environment/flex group?
Then you might be the one we are looking for! We at Toleredsskolan are now looking for a special needs teacher in Swedish, reading, and writing for grades 7–9.
Toleredsskolan is a school for grades F–9 with approximately 700 students and 100 employees. Here, inspiring meetings take place where we develop through participation, learning, and knowledge. We work with a holistic perspective where the student is at the center. Our goal is to promote the students' development, learning, and well-being, with a special focus on their academic and social progress. We offer an open, developmental, and pleasant work community. We see this, together with good relationships, as an important prerequisite for a good school experience.
Responsibilities
As a special needs teacher with us, you work closely with students, teachers, and the student health team to support students' knowledge development and create good conditions for learning. You work primarily at the individual and group levels, but also contribute at the organizational level through, among other things, mentoring teachers based on your special pedagogical competence in the school's development work.
You work preventively by identifying and removing obstacles in different learning environments, as well as developing support measures in the form of extra adaptations and special support. You work with targeted measures based on the students' needs and in close collaboration with teaching teachers. Together, you develop the didactic parts of the teaching and the teachers' working methods in the classrooms. You are helpful with lesson planning and adapted material. Furthermore, you are a reliable conversation partner for the educators regarding questions concerning special support within language-developing working methods.
In collaboration with educators, student assistants, guardians, students, and other relevant parties, you conduct mappings and pedagogical investigations, draw up and evaluate action plans, and contribute to making students' strengths, needs, and progression visible. Together with your special pedagogical colleagues, you are responsible for planning, following up, and evaluating the work with students in need of special support in close dialogue with the school's teachers.
Your assignment also includes being involved in transitions and school changes to preserve previous experiences of individual students and to convey information to the relevant teachers.
Together with our special needs teacher in mathematics and special educator, you are responsible for our flex activity "Studion," where our students with the greatest need for support and adaptations receive all or part of their education.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with further education as a special needs teacher in Swedish. You have experience from special needs teaching assignments previously. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of and experience with investigations and mapping tools, as well as special education groups/flex activities.
As a person, you are goal-oriented, structured, and have commitment and take responsibility for joint tasks. You are keen on completing what you have started and ensure that the work is done correctly, and you have the ability to take initiative and responsibility for the work moving forward, whether you are working alone or together with others.
You enjoy collaborating, are responsible, and create good relationships with colleagues, students, and parents. You find it fun and developmental to work with children with special needs and want to be an important part of their development. If you see opportunities and find joy in creating as developmental, inspiring, and challenging a school day as possible, then you might be the one we are looking for.
We warmly welcome your application!
