The Education Department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, special needs primary schools, upper secondary schools, and special needs upper secondary schools. Responsibilities also include student health services, mother tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. We strive to create an inspiring learning environment for approximately 10,000 children and students. We have a strong vision of building knowledge and creating dreams.

The Workplace

Between the plains and the sea, you will find the Principal Area of Smyge/Klagstorp. Just outside Trelleborg in the countryside, our units include Smyge School, Klagstorp School, Smygehamn Preschool, and Klagstorp Preschool. The area is led by a principal, two deputy principals, a kitchen manager, and an administrative manager. We aim for high goal achievement with a 1-16-year perspective, focusing on the development of children and students. The principal area has focused on profiling itself within music. Our trained music teacher inspires all children and students from preschool to grade 6 in singing and music.

With high teaching qualifications, we help all children and students reach their full potential. As part of our fantastic team, you will have the opportunity to develop alongside dedicated colleagues and become an important role model for our children and students.

Smyge School is located in the village of Smygehamn, just east of Smygehuk, Sweden's southernmost point. The school is a preschool to grade 6 (F-6) school with an associated after-school center. Approximately 220 students attend the school. The school actively works to develop each student according to their needs and abilities. Klagstorp School F-6 is the small school with big joy. Approximately 130 students attend the school, ranging from preschool class to grade 6. The school has worked with the Green Flag award for several years and has a conscious approach to our environment and the importance of daily physical activity. You will be welcomed by a cheerful group with strong cohesion and great engagement. We help each other when needed and are always close to laughter. You will work with a wonderful group that welcomes change and enjoys meeting children and students. Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, you will teach our students in home economics and consumer knowledge for grade 6 at both Smyge School and Klagstorp School. Together with your colleagues in the work team, you will create a good learning environment for each student. You will work as part of a team based on the clarified responsibility assignment expressed in the curriculum for the compulsory school. This means that together with the principal and other colleagues, you will lead and develop daily school life to increase goal achievement. If you accept the challenge to help develop a successful school, you are the one we are looking for.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in home economics for grade 6.

You are passionate about your teaching role and bring good ideas on how we can develop the teaching, engage with current research, and are ready to drive this forward together with your team. You are open to change, easily bring others along, and inspire new thinking. As a person, you are development-oriented, have good communication skills, and the ability to see the big picture. You thrive in an environment that places high demands on responsibility, flexibility, and social competence. You are a creative employee who can offer students good learning environments, build good relationships, and have a respectful attitude.
