Your role with us

You will be responsible for teaching music in lower secondary, middle school, and partially in upper secondary school. In this role, you will work closely with another music teacher for collegial exchange and planning. The music teachers at Fjälkinge School are involved and are an important piece of the puzzle in our celebration of all school holidays, which are much appreciated elements of school life. Music has its own classroom, and we teach music in half-classes to enable more practical moments in the subject. The position includes shared mentorship for a class in middle school. You will join a welcoming work team in middle school where we work to ensure that all students are our students.

You will actively contribute to higher goal achievement at the school regarding both knowledge and democratic tasks. Together we create a school that is equal and inclusive. Your duties include mentorship, planning, teaching, documentation, and assessment. You develop the pedagogical operations in accordance with the school's governing documents together with your colleagues and management. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a good work environment where you strengthen each student in both knowledge development and personal growth.

If you are new as a teacher, you are supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work, and you as an unqualified teacher can conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a certified teacher.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for you with a teaching certificate with the qualification to teach primarily in grades 3-9 in the subject of music and another subject in primary school. Secondly, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge at the university level in the above-mentioned subjects. It is an advantage if you have pedagogical education at the university level. We would like you to have experience working as a teacher in primary school or have experience conducting teaching or working with children in grades 3-9. We would like you to have good ability to teach children in need of special support as well as the ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, peace, and a desire to learn. You have commitment, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school world and how it is affected by the outside world.

A success factor is that you can create trusting relationships both inside and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.

Of course, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure the work based on stated goals.

As a person, you are communicative, receptive, and well-versed, and live up to the ethical principles for teachers, as well as having a talent for analyzing and documenting students' abilities and knowledge.

To allow us to make a decision on your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching certificate. If there are no qualified certified teachers, you as an unqualified person can be employed on a fixed-term basis according to the School Act. When we want to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police criminal record so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the School Act.
