Do you want a stimulating and meaningful job? We are now looking for a student assistant/study coach who can support, help, and structure the school day for students with NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders). Our assignment involves helping students on the Aesthetic Programme and/or the Social Science Programme in close dialogue with special educators and teaching teachers.

Christian 4's Gymnasium is a small upper secondary school with a broad range of programs. The Aesthetic and Social Science Programme with an aesthetic profile is one part. An introductory programme for students with NPF is another. Rh-adapted education for students with severe motor disabilities is a third part.

Your role with us

As a student assistant, you work to help and stimulate students in need of special support towards learning, development, and independence, both individually and in groups, using a low-affective approach. The work involves creating a safe environment and framework for the students, focusing on studies and conditions for developing cooperation and relationships at school. The work is carried out on behalf of the responsible teacher based on the current curriculum. You support students throughout the entire school day, both in the classroom and during breaks and in after-school care, during meal and hygiene situations, as well as during other activities.

The work requires constant attention, analysis, and understanding of situations inside and outside the classroom. In close collaboration with teachers and other student assistants, you strive to find individual solutions so that each student can benefit from the teaching in the best possible way. Understanding each other's professional roles is of utmost importance. Contact and cooperation with guardians is an important part of the work, as is actively contributing to the workplace's development and taking responsibility for your own personal competence development. The work can be physically demanding and mentally taxing.

Who are we looking for?

  • Passed the vocational package "Student Assistant" within adult education or equivalent training as a student assistant within folk high school, or
  • A degree/passed equivalent training that the employer assesses as sufficiently comprehensive within pedagogy and children's development and learning.

You need to have a good ability to meet upper secondary students, and we would like you to have documented experience as a student assistant or experience of similar tasks.

You need to be able to choose the right course of action within the pedagogical methods and techniques the school works with. We also want you to have the ability to stimulate students in their development and have a good ability to meet school-age children. You are a balanced and stable person with a professional attitude and can handle situations that arise in a safe and calm manner.
