Do you want meaningful tasks that make a difference in people's lives? Welcome to a municipality that is far from mediocre!

The Education Administration is responsible for preschools, after-school centers, primary schools, upper secondary schools, as well as adapted primary and upper secondary schools. We have over 3,200 employees across 40 preschools, 22 primary schools, and four upper secondary schools. There is a strong commitment here to ensure that all children and students receive high-quality education, have the opportunity to develop, and reach their full potential. In Botkyrka, we believe that success in school is the key to a good life and the strongest protective factor for the future.

The Role and Responsibilities

As a Special Needs Teacher/Special Educator, you are a vital part of helping Botkyrka Municipality become Sweden's best school municipality, where all students are given the opportunity to succeed in school and develop based on their unique conditions. You work inclusively and actively with the school's value base and strive for a positive learning environment. By collaborating with teachers, the student health team, guardians, and other partners, you contribute to creating cohesion and continuity in students' school journeys.

Hammersta School is a two-stream F-9 school (grades 1-9) with approximately 460 students, including a municipality-wide special education group for students with language disorders. We are proud that our students achieve high results regarding well-being and happiness at school.

The school is a developing organization, where the special educational perspective is central to meeting today's and tomorrow's challenges. You are expected to stay updated in special education through further training, collegial learning, and environmental scanning. As an employee here, you are also an ambassador for the school and may participate in events such as open houses and other non-scheduled activities.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Working with students at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
  • Mapping, analyzing, and following up on students' knowledge development. Based on collected data, you create, together with teachers, good conditions for learning and participation.
  • Providing guidance and support to colleagues in pedagogical and didactic work to develop inclusive learning environments and ensure that students develop as far as possible both socially and academically.
  • Contributing special educational competence to the school's student health team and in collaboration with guardians and external actors.
  • Participating in and initiating development efforts related to the school's work on accessibility, equity, and learning.
  • Working with documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of interventions.
  • Using digital tools as a natural part of the pedagogical work.

What We Offer You

Here, you have the opportunity to help build the student health team's work and focus on four smaller classes, specifically targeting grades 4 and 5.

Hammersta School is on an exciting development journey with the goal of becoming an interprofessional team within student health that truly becomes a natural and integrated part of students' daily school life.

The student health team currently consists of a large group of special needs teachers and special educators, a combined counselor/SYV (study and career counselor), and a school nurse. Additionally, we have our important social pedagogues in middle and upper secondary school, who are key figures in our safety work. Together, we work to strengthen both students' knowledge development and their well-being.

We want to build a systematic quality work where the competencies of the student health team are fully utilized and developed to create accessible, compensatory, and inclusive learning environments. Here, you have the opportunity to contribute and be involved in shaping how student health work is organized moving forward.

In Botkyrka, you will meet diversity, commitment, and a strong belief that all students can succeed. Here you will find curious students who want to learn and colleagues who are passionate about developing teaching; together, we make a difference!

Who You Are

We are looking for you with a teacher's license for middle school age and who are educated as a special needs teacher or special educator. You have good knowledge of language and knowledge-developing approaches, accessible learning environments, and special educational didactics, in whole-class settings and in more targeted interventions.

You should be easy to collaborate with, adaptable to emerging needs and any reprioritizations that may be required as a result. We are looking for a team player with patience and commitment to the mission and every student's right to education. The relational approach is a natural part of your way of working.

The role requires good communicative skills, both oral and written, for various tasks, purposes, and recipients. Experience working in Prorenata is a plus.
