About Us

Preschool I Ur och Skur Tumlaren is a parent cooperative with a unique location next to Tantolunden in Södermalm, Stockholm. We have a nice facility and a large inner courtyard, but we spend most of our time in nearby green areas, on our allotment garden, and making trips into nature outside the city with our cargo bikes.

The preschool was founded in 1989 and has a small group of 19 children aged 1–6 years. We focus on high staff-to-child ratios and currently have two preschool teachers, one of whom is also the principal/head of school, as well as three childcare assistants.

The operations are conducted according to the Friluftsfrämjandet concept I Ur och Skur (Out and About). The pedagogy is based on outdoor life, outdoor education, and experiential learning, with work rooted in the goals of the national curriculum. We are proud to be the only Ur and Skur preschool in central Stockholm.

The preschool is filled with play and learning with present educators. Here, all children are seen and treated equally. We aim to ignite a passion for lifelong learning and give children a secure start in life through close collaboration with parents.

About the Role

In this role, you will work within the children's group in accordance with the Ur and Skur methodology. The work will largely take place in outdoor environments and involve physical activity in the forest and nature. The tasks offer great variety and room for your own creativity.

About You

You are an engaged, proactive, and trained childcare assistant driven by the joy of working with children and a love for being outdoors. You are motivated by participating in developing the children's daily life in close collaboration with the staff group. We also believe you are adaptable and capable of thinking on your feet when things do not go as planned.

Qualifications

• Interest in working with children and young people.
• Interest in outdoor life and the desire to inspire children to appreciate nature.

Regardless of formal qualifications, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities; that you are someone who is passionate about children's development, takes the children's perspective, and dares to show curiosity and initiative. We value good organizational skills and someone who cares about a good work climate.
