Centrally located at Årstaberg station is Sjöviksskolan, a modern F-9 school. The school facilities were completed in 2020 and designed with a special focus on creating creative learning environments with a high sense of safety. This is evident in the absence of traditional corridors, the separation of older and younger students into different zones, and the prominent role of art in the spaces. The school's special rooms are located in the main building for older students. The youngest students have access to a movement room, and each homeroom area has an atelier for creative activities, reducing the need to move between buildings. Students meet daily in the cafeteria and on the schoolyard.

The school operates as a three-track organization where each grade level forms a work team. Each grade has its own homeroom area with classrooms, group rooms, and work rooms. The work in the team is led by a team leader, while pedagogical development work in teacher groups is led by the school's lead teacher.

Your role

For the autumn term 2026, we are now looking for an engaged craft teacher (slöjdlärare). We prefer that you are qualified to teach both types of crafts, but we are also looking for craft teachers specializing in wood and metal. The position is a permanent full-time employment. You will belong to a work team in the lower secondary school but will teach students in both lower and upper secondary levels. The position includes mentorship.

In the role of a teacher at Sjöviksskolan, your task is to motivate and give every student the opportunity to develop and reach their full potential. Since there is close cooperation between classes and teachers, we are looking for you who are relationship-oriented and thrive in collaboration. Together with subject colleagues, you will work to develop craft education from a grades 3-9 perspective. We value positivity, drive, engagement, solution-focus, and clear leadership.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who:

• Have a teaching license for grades 3-9 in primary school with qualification to teach crafts. We prefer qualification in both craft types, but have a specific need for the wood and metal specialization.
• Show good leadership skills and have the ability to create positive relationships with students and parents, thereby creating safety and order in the classrooms.
• Have high and positive expectations of students' ability to develop.
• Are passionate about pedagogical development together with colleagues, and are creative and open to new ideas and feedback.
• Have good digital competence and work systematically with documentation and follow-up.
