As a study and career counselor in Krokom Municipality, you will become part of the central Child and Student Health Service – a operation with approximately 25 employees from various professions who work together for children's learning, development, and health.

Here, you will have the opportunity to combine individual counseling work with a more strategic and developmental assignment. Together with school leaders, educators, and student health professionals, you will contribute to developing the schools' study and career guidance work and create good conditions for students' future choices.

The Child and Education Administration has approximately 800 employees. The administration's operations extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, comprehensive school grades F–9, adapted comprehensive school, after-school centers, catering and facility maintenance, mother tongue instruction, and library services.

A day as a study and career counselor in Krokom Municipality

As a study and career counselor, you work to support students' development towards educational goals and future study and career choices. You meet students both individually and in groups, and contribute knowledge about educational paths, the labor market, and future opportunities.

You are organizationally placed within the central Child and Student Health Service and are simultaneously part of local student health teams at the schools. The work is carried out in close cooperation with the principal, educators, student health professionals, guardians, and external partners.

The assignment includes among other things:

• conducting individual study and career counseling
• informing about educational paths, the labor market, and upper secondary school choices
• supporting students in future study and career choices
• collaborating with guardians and external actors
• providing consultation and support to school staff in study and career guidance matters
• developing schools' study and career guidance work

You actively participate in the schools' student health teams and contribute a study and career guidance perspective to the comprehensive student health work. The position involves varied work where you get to combine student-oriented efforts with developmental work at the organizational level.

Your qualifications

Requirements for the position

• Degree in study and career counseling from a university or college, or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent
• Good digital competence
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Category B driver's license and access to a car

The following are meritorious

• Experience in study and career counseling within comprehensive school
• Experience working in student health or other cross-professional operations
• Experience in development and quality work within educational activities

As a person, you are structured, responsible, and solution-focused. You have a genuine interest in supporting and motivating students in their development and future choices. You have an analytical approach and the ability to see both the big picture and details. You turn analysis into action and contribute to the development of the operation. You have good collaboration skills, build trusting relationships, and enjoy working both independently and together with others.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date as agreed.
