Jämtlands Gymnasieförbund is responsible for upper secondary schools, adapted upper secondary schools, and parts of adult education in our member municipalities. The federation's eight schools are located in natural and mountainous environments spread across six municipalities – Berg, Bräcke, Krokom, Ragunda, Åre, and Östersund.
Jämtlands Gymnasium Wargentin is the largest upper secondary school in northern Sweden. The school is located in the center of Östersund. Description
We are looking for a certified teacher with a special education degree specializing in mathematics for a permanent full-time position (100%). Start date: August 10, 2026.
Your future responsibilities
As a special education teacher at the Introduction Programme, you work closely with students who need special support to achieve their educational goals. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching and support measures, focusing on strengthening students' knowledge development and creating conditions for increased goal achievement.
The role includes mapping students' needs, conducting pedagogical assessments, and designing and following up on special support measures at both individual and group levels. You teach students individually and in small groups, and contribute to developing accessible learning environments and adaptations within the operations.
The work is carried out in close collaboration with teachers, special educators, student health professionals, the principal, and guardians. You serve as a support to colleagues regarding special support and special pedagogical methods, actively contributing to developing the operation's work to increase attendance, security, and study motivation.
You will become part of a work team where collaboration, relationship-building, and a solution-focused approach are central parts of the role.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with a special education degree in mathematics and who have a strong commitment to students in need of special support.
You are solution-oriented, flexible, and work systematically to create good conditions for students' learning and development. You have good knowledge of special pedagogical methods and adapt teaching based on students' individual needs. Experience working with students with neurodevelopmental disorders (such as ADHD and autism) is meritorious.
You have good collaboration skills, enjoy working together with colleagues and student health services, and are well-versed in documentation, assessment, and digital tools in the teaching profession.
Personal suitability will be given great weight.
