The ERK Foundation is an independent operator for the Swedish-Finnish School (grades F-6) and the preschool Pikku-Erkki. Founded in 1993, the operations are bilingual and non-profit.

Both operations are located at Vasbergsgatan 5 in Eskilstuna, in a beautiful, centrally located, and historic school building. There are approximately 110 children enrolled in the operations (preschool and school) and about 25 staff members. The Foundation's task is to preserve and develop Swedish-Finnish culture alongside a high level in both the Swedish and Finnish languages. The goal is to teach children and students Finnish and Swedish at a level that enables active bilingualism and supports their Swedish-Finnish identity development.

We are currently looking for:

Music Teacher for Lower and Middle School (Grades 1-6).

Job Description

Your responsibilities include subject planning, teaching, preparing materials for development conferences, and grading for students in Grade 6. You will collaborate closely with other teachers, the student welfare team, and mentors.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with qualifications in music. The music position is a part-time role of approximately 20%. You are welcome to apply even if you are qualified in additional subjects, as we are a small school and value teachers who can teach more than one subject. If you are an unqualified music teacher for Grades 1-6, we can offer a temporary position for the school year.

Merits:

Our working and teaching languages are both Swedish and Finnish. Good knowledge of Swedish is required for this position. Knowledge of Finnish is not mandatory but is considered a merit.

Other Information

You will join a pleasant workplace with many fine traditions. Start date is by agreement.
