The ERK Foundation is an independent main operator for the Swedish-Finnish School (grades F-6) and the preschool Pikku-Erkki. Founded in 1993, the operations are bilingual and non-profit.

Both operations are located at Vasbergsgatan 5 in Eskilstuna, in a beautiful, centrally located, and historic school building. There are approximately 110 children enrolled in the operations (preschool and school) and about 25 staff members. The Foundation's task is to preserve and develop Swedish-Finnish culture together with a high level in both the Swedish and Finnish languages. The goal is to teach the children and students Finnish and Swedish at a level that enables active bilingualism and supports their Swedish-Finnish identity development.

We are now looking for:

Wood and metal crafts teacher and/or textile crafts teacher for the intermediate school (grades 4-6).

For the right candidate, the position can be more than 30% and up to 80% if there is interest.

Job Description

• Subject planning and teaching.
• We are building our own craft workshop during the spring and summer. Previously, we have rented premises elsewhere.
• You will collaborate with other teachers, the student health team, and mentors.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have qualifications in the subject of crafts. The crafts position represents 30% of a full-time position. You are welcome to have qualifications in additional subjects as we are a small school and prefer to hire teachers who can teach more than one subject. If you are not qualified, we can offer a substitute position for the school year.

Merits:

Our working and teaching languages are both Swedish and Finnish. Good knowledge of Swedish is a requirement for this position, while knowledge of Finnish is not a requirement but is seen as a merit.
