International English School (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is conducted in both Swedish and English, with English being the language of the corridors. IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups in primary and lower secondary education, with 43 schools and around 30,000 students nationwide. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993. IES Eskilstuna is one of Sweden's largest schools with 1,185 students enrolled in grades F-9 and approximately 125 staff members.
Do you want to help develop teaching where all students are given the opportunity to succeed based on their prerequisites? IES Eskilstuna is now seeking two dedicated special needs teachers for grades 4-9 who wish to work closely with both students and colleagues to strengthen student learning and contribute to an accessible and inclusive learning environment.
About the roleAs a special needs teacher, you work to support students in need of special assistance, both individually and in small groups. You assess students' needs, plan and implement targeted teaching interventions, and follow up on students' development. The role includes establishing and following up on action plans, being responsible for documentation regarding students' support measures, and working in the documentation system Prorenata.
The role also involves being a support for colleagues in matters concerning extra adaptations, learning environments, and teaching strategies. You contribute your expertise to collegial work regarding students in need of support and participate in the school's work to develop teaching so that it becomes accessible to more students.
You will among other things:- plan and conduct teaching for students in need of special assistance
- assess students' need for special assistance and follow up on interventions
- establish, follow up, and evaluate action plans
- be responsible for documentation related to support measures
- work in the school's documentation system Prorenata
- contribute to the development of teaching and accessible learning environments
- collaborate with the student health team and school management
- collaborate with teachers regarding extra adaptations and support measures
- are a certified teacher with a special needs teacher degree, qualified for grades 4-9
- have a structured and solution-focused approach to work
- have good collaboration skills and thrive working closely with colleagues
- have a relational approach and see possibilities in every student's learning
