Katrineholm schools offer a safe and developmental education with creative learning as the focus. Within the Education and Labor Market Administration, we have preschools, comprehensive schools, adapted comprehensive schools, upper secondary schools, adapted upper secondary schools, reception units for newly arrived students, municipal activity responsibility, adult education, culture schools, technical schools, central child and student health services, labor market units, and a Campus for higher studies.

Duveholmsgymnasiet consists of three units: the Social Sciences Program/Aesthetic Program, the adapted upper secondary school, and the introductory programs. Katrineholm Technical College also educates its students in the same building, and in total, we have just under a thousand students in the school building. The introductory programs are a separate principal area, and on this gem, nearly thirty employees and 140 students work. The unit is characterized by constant change and development to meet the needs of all students. The recipe for success at the unit is spelled out as engaged, responsible, and participatory employees who work every day to make our organization even better. On the introductory programs, there are program mentors, which means that teachers can focus on teaching and relationship-building without getting stuck in administrative tasks related to mentoring. In addition to the premises at Duveholmsskolan, we now also work at Lilla Duve, which is a stone's throw from the school. Here we have created a calmer learning environment for students who need it, and in total, just over twenty students have their education and home base here.

For several years, we have worked on creating a good structure for the program with a focus on all levels; from the main authority via the school management to the teaching in the classroom. As part of this, we have since 2020 worked according to the basic layout of a working method called "Intensive Swedish," which among other things means that we work in all subjects according to ready-made subject plans based on the central content from the course plans. The working method creates good opportunities for collective learning and cooperation and makes the education clear and equal for the students. The teaching is planned based on language and knowledge-developing working methods and clarifying pedagogy in all subjects.

On the introductory programs, we say that "we are all student health" regardless of whether we are teachers, special needs educators, school nurses, principals, special teachers, mentors, or counselors. By this, we mean that student health is about both well-being and learning, and therefore the student health mission is double-sided. If we can get students to feel good, they find it easier to learn, and if we can get students to feel that they are learning, they find it easier to feel good. This perspective permeates the unit and creates a shared view of our common mission.

We are now looking for an engaged and driven teacher in English and another subject, preferably Swedish or Swedish as a second language, who wants to be part of our exciting development work in the coming years.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in English and another subject on the introductory programs. If you are also qualified to teach at the upper secondary level, your position can possibly be combined with this if you wish.
• You drive your own teaching in close collaboration with other educators in the activity.
• As a teacher, you work to promote each student's development and learning. It is your responsibility to create good relationships with students and colleagues. You are an adult role model for all students at the school.
• Work in work teams, development groups, and subject groups with a focus on teaching, relationship-building, and school development.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher who is qualified to teach at least grade 9 and who has a great interest in teaching and development. We are looking for you who have good cooperation skills, high relational competence, and a positive attitude towards both students and colleagues. It is also important that you are flexible and that you can adapt to changed circumstances in the activity and that you have the ability to create structure in this.

Students are looking for a teacher who takes time to hang out with them during breaks and who can sometimes talk about something other than school and knowledge. You should be good at explaining and understanding that you often need to explain the same thing in several ways. Students also want you to have energy that they can catch and that you ensure that the classroom is characterized by study peace.

Your competence for the task is decisive together with your ability to lead and create result-giving relationships.
